I meant neanderthal more in the sense that an overdeveloped chest and weak back makes you more prone to slouching forward.

But training legs is defenitely a must. Training legs is really heavy so it releases the biggest amount of growth hormones.

    Good luck.

I just had a huge meal. One 20 oz. t bone and a whole baked yam.

Speaking of putting on weight, at the start of 2014, I was 6'2", and 140 lbs! Too, too skinny. I started either snacking or having a meal every 2 hours. I put on ten pounds every month before I stopped at 170 lbs.

Thus, I will start eating more.

How do I get stronger? By having bigger muscle, or by training? I mean, after the 300 push-ups, my arms are definitely bigger, but I look even more out of proportion.

Putting on muscle does not make you dumb. On the contrary, it actually increases oxygen to the brain. Arnold Schwartzenegger is a very well educated and intelligent guy. We all know his legacy as an actor, but he used bodybuilding as a means to get there. The stereotype of big muscles and low IQ could not be further from the truth.

To the person who linked a page from livestrong, shame on you. I would not trust a single speck of information from an organization that was founded by one of the most disgraceful athletes in history.

Starting strength is a great workout routine. But form is very fucking important so do some serious research if you want to start squatting and deadlifting etc.

Men create a natural anabolic steroid called testosterone, this causes muscle to increase in size and density. Im sure you already knew this, Its also true that most large gym rats are on synthetic anabolics, but my comment about muscle competing of oxygen still stands as its apparently impeded your thought process.

I admit that I do not know everything about this stuff, Im only bothering, to show these guys, that neither do you. You walk into to a thread, try to talk down to a group of people that are trying to help others with your stupid shirtless picture and chubby belly, without the knowledge base to back up your claim or even the effort to support them. Your a joke here kid, go start your own thread.

@allen-o: Thanks for putting the facts straight.

@Diesel: He didn't insult you, only your posts, which are based on misinformation. So you shouldn't either..

@OP - If you don't want to buy weights, go for handstand-pushups and the like.

I found Allen-o's picture to be offensive, and may even be a trigger for some of the guys on this site. Its inappropriate, he should put something else up. I also found his comment "i know some jacked dude just kicked your ass..." and I reacted accordingly. As for misinformation, it very well may be. Maybe you would like to prove the contrary Immor?

I do it like 250 pushups a day-250 squats next day-shadow boxing (A-B-C) but i recommend everyone do A-B-A-B if you dont do another exercise so you will not have empty days but muscles you work out still have the time to recover.
Since i'm young and somewhere in between slim and fit i can do 250 of each easily without real exhaustion but still have good workout. I recommend you to try and find how many of reps and sets you can perform max. in a day and push your limits everyday further so you can improve.

Thanks for the link Immor. Thinking back, some of the best atheletes in high school also had high grades as well. Plus, with your link, I may have to rethink my muscle and brains comment.

Your 100% right! I used to be such a nice guy, avoided confrontation like the plague, and never got my blood pressure over 120...I will have to learn to control myself.

I did peak 8 sprints today...nearly yaked. Now my legs almost feel numb. Crazy that less than 4 min of excercise can wreck a person like that.

In addition to my journal, I will start a workout journal. That sounds like a good place to start.

Today I worked out legs. I did 55 squats and 55 calf rises while holding a 40 lb. chain on my hands and shoulder - just like a barbell.

Actually both your journals are not where journals are supposed to be.

Diesel74: it is very unkind for you to talk about Allen's "stupid shirtless picture and chubby belly"!

I don't regard Allen's avatar as "offensive" or a possible trigger, but I would say that Philip1990's might be. :(
