Counting days can motivate and keep you on track.
Counting days may also suggest an end point... possible anticipated relapse???

We are all different... whatever works for you.

  2. If you quit porn is to focus on other things of life, if you focus everyday on not having PMO that day, your life is still revolving around porn, it doesn't make any sense...
I know the day I quitted, it was an easy to remember date, so sometimes, if I want to know how long it's been for whatever reasons (like sharing something here), I just calculate it by looking at the calendar, but I don't count everyday at all, and I focus on other stuff throughout my days.

  3. It is helpful at first to track your progress but I agree that at one point it became a detraction. Even the hidden 'guilt' of sharing relapses here can promt one to feel demotivated. But God is able. He has delivered me from guilt and shame. Now I do not focus on the days anymore because I have moved on to other battles in my life. Like living in full obedience to the will of God. Keeping oneself sexually pure is merely the first rung in the ladder of Christianity. This is the key... be aware when shame tried to creep in... ask for God's aid and He will secure the victory!

I am obsessive. If you obsess about good things the end result is usually good.

My theory is this. Average people work 37.5 hours a week and read one book a year. As a result everything else about them is average or mediocre.

Hit whatever you’re doing like a battering ram and smash it. Work, the gym, financial or NoFap
