As you can see, I am in the very early stages of my reboot. I joined and completed a 7 day challenge. Not easy, but I am reading that the first week is the easy one. I also read that it's recommended that at least 90 days is necessary for a successful reboot. Do you feel I am wise or foolish if I try to go 90 days out of the gate? I'd like to especially hear from those who have seen both sides. Thanks!
If you see this as a journey, not as the destination. It’s easier. Start seeing this as a day to day basis first
The ultimate goal is should always be to eliminate porn use forever, but long challenges may be intimidating. Wanting to go 90 days is great, but don't beat yourself up if you fail. Some people make 90 days + in their first streak. Others struggle for months to make 7 days. Everyone is different. The most important thing is to keep trying. Intermediate goals prevent you from being overwhelmed. FWIW this is my first streak.
Yep ideally our goal should be forever but take things one day at a time and with whatever method that helps you achieve that along with positive support you will do just fine, even if you fail a bunch of times never give up
you can cut porn out of your life at any moment. I've been porn free since January and just blew a 60 day streak with just M. Porn is the crack of M. Stop trying to moderate that. If you're going to blow a streak, I don't recommend it, but at least blow it with masturbation alone. There is no reason why porn should be in your life if you feel like you have a problem with it.
The beginning is actualy the hardest and when it comes to the days I would say go for at least 90 because it is aimed for beginners like us so we can rewire. Do not think about how hard it may be think of little chalenges like 7-14-21-30-45-60-75-90 and keep hitting little milestones instead focusing on a big one.
I was 'lucky' in that I found NoFap after tryng and failing to give up porn for six years so I had had short streaks porn free and longer ones. I often lasted three days, sometimes three weeks, occasionally three months, and once 22 months. So when I came here and tried for the thirty day challenge I was ready to extend it to 90 day, then 180 days, then a year, now forever (I hope!) It is very hard, but the sence of achievement you'll get after 90 days is amazing. Perhaps aim for 30, and then if you feel strong extend to 90.
