    Good Evening!
I am brand new to NoFap, and just signed up for a one-year commitment tonight. This was one of the most difficult things I've ever done. It's not that I truly don't want help, but just having to be man enough to admit that I have a problem that I cannot handle on my own. To give the Reader's Digest version, I am a young man still in my 30s and my pornography problem began almost 4 years ago. After being out on my own for several years and finally earning enough to afford at-home Internet access, I told myself that I would not get on such sites. That lie lasted for only a few months, then I just happened to start. At first it was nothing major, just a few youtube videos that "pushed the edge," then I remembered some porn movie trailers I had accessed some years earlier. Due to being great with search words in Google, I found sites that the entire videos were posted on and this is how the habit began. At first just here and there, then more and more frequently. What finally made me join this support community is because I am a TIME subscriber and read the issue devoted to the problems that pornography is causing so many teenage boys and men of all ages alike. This is an issue that I have lived in shame and secrecy with for far too long as it is a very dirty habit to form and a difficult one to break. I am sick and tired of being controlled by these inner thoughts, feelings and impulses and am eager to breaking free from this. If anyone has any suggestions or wants to respond with what it was like for them right after joining NoFap and their own struggles, they are very welcomed. I am very much looking forward to having a true support group that is there to encourage each other and hopefully be non-judgmental as we all work to overcome our inner demons regarding this!

Thank you so much Fapstronaut! I am definitely struggling as I see it will take some time to exorcise these demons. Happy to see my tracking show 1 day on here and feel I'm starting to take positive strides in the right direction!

  4. Welcome man. Your road to freedom starts here. I feel great I decided to join this site.. I have learned so much in less than a month. Encouraging others also helps me... and I have been sharing this site and the concept with others close to me. It is funny how it has become this conversation starter. And do you know what...? someone I would hardly suspect indulged in P sorta made a blank statement that "we all have this problem'' which I took as an admission from him. It opened my eyes. You are not as alone as you think you are... I can assure you of that. I then was sharing the positive benefits I have experienced so far on nofap... more awareness... food started to taste better... more assertiveness in social situations.... more respect from peers... motivated to change other habits... (now exercising every morning, doing cold showers and making my bed)... more motivated to be outside (today I biked in rain both to and from work and I didn't even care) .... enjoying music once more (feeling the emotions I normally felt during emotional pieces of classical music before I fapped myself into numbness). The only negative impact I have felt so far is that my sleep is now a bit changed. The body is still adjusting. God loves you man. Be blessed.
