I just want to say that this is the most tasteless thing that I’ve seen in a long time.

You think that this is an appropriate way to honor the lives of those children?

Could you imagine telling the parents of the deceased about this?

“Hey. I’m so sorry that your kid died in such a tragic way. I feel so strongly about it that for each child who died, I’m not going to jerk myself off for a day.”

I don’t think that the families would appreciate hearing that.

Does this mean that every time you get an urge, you’re going to think about kids getting gunned down? “Not tonight, P0rnHub, I gotta stay strong for the kids.”? And then what does it mean if you were to fail this “challenge”?

Like. I get it. Your heart is in the right place, but this ain’t the way to do it. Dead kids and masturbation are like gasoline and an open flame; they should never even come close to one another.

Also. I feel like dedicating your abstinence to the children is a hollow gesture. What makes it special? You were going to abstain anyways. The only thing that’s different between any prior abstinence and this abstinence is that you said that it’s “for the kids.”

You wanna make a difference? Go donate some money to the families of the victims. God knows that there’s a GoFundMe set up for it.

One last thought: This kind of virtue signaling is super tacky. Why not do a good thing for the sake of knowing that you did a good thing and helped to make the world a better place? Why do you need to proclaim it to the world that you’re doing a good thing? Isn’t doing the good deed reward enough?

To be fair, a post on an anonymous niche forum is hardly proclaiming it to the world. And he is, i presume, doing it for himself and not to impress any parents etc.

Can nofap change the world? Not by itself. But it's a start. You'll never change the world by jerking all your energy and self worth away, that's for sure.

 

Also: when i read the title of the thread i immediately thought of the old web 1.0 pseudo-porn site "robbs celebs". Showing both my age and the length and extent of my addiction....
