I'm scared that I may become a monster

(First post here, please do correct me if this is the wrong subforum)
I have decided to begin a long term refrainment from PMO, but i fear i may become a monster. If my memory serves me well, I have a history of pedophilic and incestual thoughts (and even weird one sided engagements). Is it possible that these tendencies may come out uncontrollably when i refrain from PMO too long?

Edit: I'm not fond of pedophilic or insectual porn though. My porn preferences are varied and change from time to time, sometimes rotate.

I would say that your sexual thought-preferences are more likely to emerge with porn usage. Ergo, refraining from porn is more likely to reduce these attractions. If they existed after looking at porn they may go altogether. I hope that helps. :)

I think this thread should belong to "Rebooting". The admin will probably move it.
You're not a monster, as I will also admit I have some pedophiliac, and incestual thoughts as well. So, don't degrade yourself like that. This is likely the result of abusing PMO, and you developed a fetish that will make it easier for you to get off.
These thoughts will go away as your brain will start rewiring for ''normal'' sex

Unless you act out in some new destructive way to self or others, you (or anyone for that matter) are no more and no less the monster than you already are at this very moment - whether outside or on the inside. Just because one does not reflect upon one's inner dark side does not mean that it is not there. We often, in fact, use various addictions to distract our attention from our inner darkness and brokenness rather than deal with it in constructive, healing ways, which entails fortitude, courage, and hard work. So, will giving up your addiction and pursuing recovery shed a stronger light on the inner dark side and brokenness? - It probably will, but not because recovery increases or enhances the monster but just removes our blindness to ourselves and shows us what has been there all along (and sometimes in raw form). PMO behavior is symptomatic of the main illness - taking away the addictive behavior is removing the ineffective ways of coping and dealing with the main issues. Hence, in being PMO free, you will still need to replace these bad coping behaviors with proper, effective, and healthy tools to deal with the same crap that you were trying to avoid in the first place. A support system (such as Nofap) can be one such tool, but even this has its limits. If you are dealing with some greater and harmful tendencies still (which become exposed), you may need further support as from a counsellor or therapist perhaps. Does that make sense?

Well, i'm not really fond of pedo or incest, but when it comes to "before watching porn" - in my case, there has almost never been a time "before PMO".

    Porn-induced fetish, then. You're safe.

    EDIT: I hope you are.

I think i get you. I just really hope that those tendencies have died on the inside.

I've been indulging in PMO before puberty, so i do not really know who i was before it.

Well, that could be a reason.
Sounds like sexual interests of girls have not changed. You built a foundation from that. You will either need therapy, or truly commit to abstaining. My thoughts disperse after some time off porn. My only fetish I have now (ERR) anal.

  10. Doing NoFap will help rather than cause further problems. It's the porn that distorts our mind, so refraining from it will cleanse the mind.

Get on board ASAP, brother. I'm just going to be honest with you. If you continue down the path of PMO, those thoughts could get worse and become darker. I'm not saying it has to be that way, but please, just be careful. I'm not referring to you, but people who commit sexual crimes, it all started off as thoughts. It all started somewhere.

But it's great that you've opened up to us here. We can help you, but please take this seriously. No one here will judge you, but it's important that we're straight forward concerning the seriousness of PMO and it's effects. I hope you enjoy your time here.

You may even find that what you thought were thoughts about paedophilia, were nothing of the kind. It is an emotive word and a much misunderstood word, dramatized by the media. Some think it means child molestation, but it does not. You will find the pertinent information in the post below...

Hahahaha, I think he is messing with ya. I usually put ERR next to a triggering word or subject. I thought that was a rule on NoFap.

Yeah, lol. There's a spoiler function - click on Help at the bottom right and then BB Codes for an example of how to do it. ;)
