I seem to smile a lot when the current moment isn’t even funny/happy. Like when people are talking to me or just looking at me. It may be just my awkwardness or something about eye contact that makes this happen. Does anyone else suffer from this I feel that people find it strange and look down on me because of it
Well, I'm on the other end of the spectrum. People think I'm pissed off all the time. At least smiling makes you more accessible - though I see how some stuck up people could look down on you. But those guys are probably not worth it and/or having a miserably life themselves.
I'm a smiler too. I say smile on brother, if anyone doesn't like your smile that's on them. The world could use all the smiles we can muster.
A lot of people smile when nervous. I think it's a fairly common thing. Just gotta learn to be a little more calm.
Suffer? I think that's great! Reminds me of a great friend of mine, and that's one of the reasons I was so drawn to him and wanted to get to know him better. I have the opposite problem. I have noticed, especially after making videos of myself, that I have a major resting bitch face. I always look a lot less happy than I actually feel. In addition to that, I have a crazy imagination and I'm always thinking through different stories in my head and making facial expressions to go along with my thoughts. So I basically look like a crazy person all the time. But I don't care! I'm having fun, and if anyone thinks I'm weird, whatever.
I tend to not express my emotions all too much, so it's foreign for me to smile even for photos and whatnot. I'd say keep on smiling.
I don't understand why this generation is obsessed with not being "awkward", but at the same time most of us claim to be introverted. When are we truly going to embrace not giving a shit and just living happily?
That's great in general, but with one exception I'd say. Don't smile at certain people if you're only doing it in the hopes that they won't be nasty to you. You know, those people. A better approach in that situation is to be serious and calmly remove yourself from their presence!
I understand that, I grimace pretty often and it kind of looks like a warped smile. People can usually read the intent behind the body language as long as the emotions are in the right place. I wouldn't worry about it.
Well, you could also be like this guy https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqW54i24PGw1q7IxciRmgTA/videos
I remember when I am in a long streak I usually smile a lot and laugh a lot even at the smallest of moments. In my opionion I don't think smiling is a bad thing, but maybe if it bothers you you can meditate more so you would have more control over your emotions!
