First of all what is PMO binging? I used to think it was how much you PMOed, but now I think it's something different. Now I think it's how long you PMO. For instance you could get one guy that PMO's 3 times in a day, each PMO session lasting 5 minutes, and then you could get another guy who PMO's once in a day, but the session lasts a few hours. What guy has binged more? I personally think it's the second guy. The second guy will of done much more damage. Really I think the problem is, and it's something I am extremely guilty of doing is stopping my self from ejaculating so the pleasure lasts longer. So basically I flick about hundreds of different content while masturbating, then when I am near ejaculation stop wanking my dick as hard and I somehow stop my self from ejaculating, then after a few seconds I continue. I'm not kidding my PMO sessions have lasted as long as 5 hours before I have ejaculated.

In another post I made I mentioned how I relapsed going on a PMO binge for 4 days, and I'm not kidding I basically PMO binged for the majority of the 4 days, having hours long PMO sessions every time. If you added up the exact time I spent PMOing in those 4 days it probably comes to nearly 20 hours. I mean talk about damage?

I am really starting to believe that this stopping your self from ejaculating and continuing to PMO for long periods of time is the biggest problem. Dopamine constantly keeps rising the more you search, find and wank. The brain is unnaturally high with dopamine when you do this. I have honestly become some what of an expert at stopping my self from ejaculating while PMOing. The sessions honestly usually last a minimum of 3 hours, and imagine doing this most of the day?

The thing is for the most part I have actually been doing really well at staying away from PMO for the most part. I have been on this journey a year and a half, I have had a lot of streaks and relapses. I have went through quite long periods of time not even caring about porn and artificial sexual stimulation.

I had been going through a tough time a good few days ago and do feel like I was using the PMO to take my mind off my other worries, and it was taking my mind off my other worries. But obviously now I do really regret this 4 day long PMO binge.

I always have questioned how some guys do get away with PMO and some guys don't. When I say get away with it I mean they're psychically still able to have sex, they don't have PIED. But then other guys who PMO can't psychically have sex because they have PIED. But now I am starting to believe the reason some guys get away with it is because they don't binge, when they use porn they PMO for like 5 minutes and then that's them done, and they have always used porn this way. Like I said if you done this occasionally the damage would be tiny. But then other guys like me binge on PMO for hours flicking about hundreds of different content before they ejaculate. When you think about it I think this might actually be the difference between a casual user and an addict. When it comes to alcohol a casual drinker can take it or leave it, they can have a few drinks and stop ext, where as an alcoholic can't take it or leave it, they binge on alcohol after they have a drink. Is this not basically the exact same thing that's happening with the casual porn user and the porn addict?

It does really worry me because how easily accessible porn and artificial sexual stimulation is. The real worry is it somewhat doesn't seem to matter how long the porn addict is away from porn, if they're triggered by it and use it a little they're highly likely going to go back to old behaviours and binge. It's the same if an alcoholic who has been on the wagon for a long time ends up drinking some alcohol, they will highly likely go back to old behaviours and binge. This is because addiction is a powerful learned behaviour, it's believed these neural pathways responsible for causing the addiction never truly go away completely, no matter how long you're away from it. You could be away from it for years and then if you're triggered in some way or use it then these pathways will heavily light up giving you that powerful urge to use again.

Like I said this is very worrying. There's a few reasons why this is very worrying. One is because we all have sex drives, we're not going to stop feeling horny. Porn is connected to our sex drives, even though for the most part it is the dopamine fix we're after.

Two porn and artificial sexual stimulation is everywhere, it's easily accessible, guys who are not porn addicts still like jacking off to porn from time to time.

Simply feeling horny could be a trigger to PMO, and like I said we're not going to stop feeling horny.

We don't have a natural drive to drink alcohol, we don't have a natural drive to use cocaine, we do however have a natural drive to reproduce, and even a guy who hasn't seen porn before or a guy who doesn't have an issue with porn could easily unleash his sex drive on PMO. This could actually be the reason why masturbation on it's own could be too dangerous for porn addicts these days. Most men porn addicts or not are going to prefer to look at porn/artificial stimulation when they masturbate much more than just using their imagination, and like I said porn and artificial sexual stimulation is instantly available and accessible these days. There used to be a time guys had no choice but to use their imagination to wank when they were horny. Even guys that had porn dvds/tapes/magazines back then, it was only like a drop of water back then compared to an ocean of water in terms of the difference in sexual novelty, and it's instant free unlimited sexual novelty these days.

It's sort of like what chance you got? Guys who aren't even porn addicts sometimes like PMOing. We're always going to sometimes feel horny, and that instant access to porn is always going to be there.

It's kind of like a cocaine addict trying to not take any cocaine with a kilo of cocaine sitting next to them. In fact it's actually much worse than that, because like I said we naturally have sex drives, and porn can even heavily turn non porn addicts on.

That's something else with a lot of guys on nofap, they seem to believe it's abnormal to be turned on by porn, like you have to keep constantly using it before it turns you on. Was there not a time you had never seen porn before and then seen it and were heavily turned on by it? I truly believe porn will always have the potential to be extremely sexually arousing, regardless if you have 100% rebooted or not, and like I said for us porn addicts that is really dangerous, because those old porn pathways will heavily light up if we're triggered by porn or use porn again, and unfortunately this might always be the case.

So it's kind of like a cocaine addict who is trying to stay clean living the rest of his life with a kilo of cocaine in his drawer. In fact it's even worse than that because of our natural sex drives.

This is something I tried to warn people in the past about.

The current paradigm does very poorly in assessing addiction and progress. A guy that pmos once a month for 4 hours non stop binging is actually in a worse state than another guy that pmos once a week for 5 minutes each time. A guy that has a 90 day "streak" then pmos for 3 consecutive days for 3 hours each day, 2 times per day is in a worse state than a guy who has 1 month streak, wanks once for 15 minutes and then has another 1 month streak. That's not to say wanking is normal but some behaviors are much more damaging than others.

Edging is basically a binge and edging will completely fry your brain and hormones. Edging is not limited to watching porn or masturbating, it also includes sex fantasizing with no masturbation, it simply means surfing on a sexual arousal state - you can do that with infinite methods: watching instagram models, remembering past sexual acts, reading erotica, listening to audio sex, porn, pics whatever.

Saying "i binged 4 times in 2 days" is insufficient at best, a binge should be calculated with #_of_timetimes X time_spent_each_session. More so, how much novelty is used must also be factored in. A man watching one scene/one woman for 20 minutes is far better off than a man watching sex gifs on reddit or porn complilations movies, where he literally sees over 100 women in 20 minutes. Remember the Coolidge effect and what it means for your brain - it's novelty that keeps one going.

I used to think i "didn't binge" because i just ejaculated once in a week, but in reality i was spending two or more hours surfing sexual arousal, first through sexual fantasizing, then porn/gifs, then masturbation. I used to see over 400 women that "one time" I masturbated with the "help" of nsfw subreddits or by quickly jumping from porn vid to porn vid.

So "binge" should include "time spent staying sexually aroused" and "how many women you saw".

Ultimately it's sexual gratification without a real woman near you and without the opportunity to have sex that is the problem.

Sexual gratification does not only include masturbation or porn, sexual gratification is obtained even if you simply fantasize about a woman in a sexual way, without touching yourself or seeing any arousing content.

The real problem is the disconnect between real life and reward. A man that can achieve sexual gratification without any real sex with a real woman is a man that has "hacked" his brain to give him rewards with no effort. Imagine how destructive it would be to hack your brain to give you the feeling of heroin without even needing to take heroin.
