What do you guys think, how long should someone with very long compulsive binge PMO problem stay in "monk mode" (no S, P, M, PMO, MO)?

I'm starting with 90 days, but I honestly think my reset is going to take over a year. This is coming from someone who has struggled with PMO etc. for fifteen years or so.

We have roughly the same PMO mileage. Do you intend to stay in "monk mode" for more than a year?

It's going to be difficult but yes I think that's what it will take for me. Have you completed your 90 days? The longest I ever went without P was about 7 months but I still managed to slip back into my old ways. This was before I found NoFap.

Similar here, my longest "monk mode" streak lasted around 200 days and I had a few more 3 months streaks in the past. I think I'm in a fifth one now. I try to find a way to develop more healthy lifestyle this time around so I become mentally strong enough not to return to binge PMO rabit hole when shit hits the fan. Just counting days of abstention didn't bring long lasting results for me in the past.

I've passed 90 days. I don't know how long to stay in this "monk mode". Should I continue staying in it for a few more months? I have no desire to break it, to be honest. I'm currently in a state of some kind of anhedonia, where I have trouble to be motivated by anything. But there has to be some point in continuing. Doing it just to count days is kind of pointless, even silly.

I am doing 1 year monk-mode (no S, no PMO, no O, no edging, and "pattern-disrupt" with every sexual trigger on TV, social media, etc.)
5 years hard mode (No PMO, no edging)
and I intend to quit PMO and edging forever

I have PMO for the same amount of time too Fenix. I’m onto my six month but relapsed a bit yesterday by watching videos and I have PIED too. I intend on doing just like you although wish I could have sex but PIED dampers that. I feel that would only increase my urges to PMO though so I don’t care about that.

I will need a year for the pathways to clear though. I think I spend too much time on phone which is not helping at all. I need to do other out door activities.

Hard mode is forever=no pmo forever. But you can start having sex whenever you feel like it if you recovered from PIED or any kinds of sexual dysfunctions .

Same with me. I believe you have to fill that space in your mind with something else that's positive for your life. I'm going to use physical fitness as my replacement for PMO.

Yeah, the anhedonia was not nice. I had that for the entire 90 days or a little more than that.

You said you hurt yourself, are you getting better. I understand how trying to keep a streak going is tough for n that position. Some days I do not want to get up early to workout either but try to motivate myself as much as possible ..

I'm fine now, thanks for asking. Just came home from a bike ride. I couldn't workout for a month and it was really difficult to stay positive during that period. Yes, anhedonia is a b... I hope I'll climb out of it soon. If you'd ask me before reboot what will I do after 3 months in hardmode, I'd say chasing women like crazy, now I don't care to call them back. Our mind is really strange thing.

Yes, the brain is crazy but we do what we have to and get it straightened out.

I was gonna ask you I know you posted before but what was the fastest way at healing brain pathways. I believe everybody says aerobic exercise. I am going to try and do spin bike every morning for twenty minutes or so and then workout. I’m not a big runner but could swim at a club near me though if I need tool anything else you suggest besides food, water, and rest of course ..

I think it's impossible to say. I'm in hardmode for 20 months and during this time I completely lost any interest in sexual activities. Sometimes I wonder if it ever come back. I think your body knows the best, just wait until anhedonia will diminish and your libido will start coming back. For me this time didn't came yet. Trying to setup some specific time benchmark doesn't makes sense because for each person it will be very different depending from physiology, past sexual experiences, relationships, etc.

I wish I knew the answer. I've read that aerobic activity has ability "to reduce insulin resistance, reduce inflammation, and stimulate the release of growth factors—chemicals in the brain that affect the health of brain cells, the growth of new blood vessels in the brain, and even the abundance and survival of new brain cells." It stimulates growth of new brain cells, so in theory it should help us rewire faster. Studies have shown that even daily brisk walking has a lot of benefits if you're not into running.

Meditation/prayer has also shown to reduce stress related hormones cortisol and adrenaline. I haven't implement it in my program yet, but I did practice yoga for a few years and I intend to start doing it again.

Omega-3 fatty acid diet is also very beneficial to human brain and it also has anti-inflammatory effect on the body.

As for the rest, you've written it all, balanced unprocessed food, lots of water, enough sun and 7-9 hour of regular sleep.

Try 90 days and see how you feel. After 90 days I decided to continue hard mode indefinitely because I felt a lot better.

Danm bro 20 months hardmode? Congrats man! I can tell you had a severe addiction. I'm 8 months in and since 14 days withdrawals don't really let me have a day to breathe.
