I often find myself extremely motivated on the first 3 days or so, but fall out of it after that. I would really appreciate any advice on staying motivated I can get!
First, what are your personal motivations for going through reboot? Keep those motivations with you as a reminder. What is causing you to fall off? Are you having specific urges? Are you being exposed to trigger images? Are you HALT (Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired)? Focus on one day at a time. If you get bad withdrawls (I had blue balls), break it down to only focus on that day. On day 1, I said, "I can survive this pain for 1 day." On day 2 I said, "I survived this yesterday, so I can survive this today without PMO." On day 5, "For crying out loud! It has to be over today. I can do this. On day 8, "Whatever, I'm used to it now." Then it went away. I guess my point is don't let withdrawls and urges demotivate you. It's like sobering up after a heavy drinking binge. You can take stuff to lessen the headache, but you're still going to go through the hangover. Just let it pass.
You can find it in the benefits list. Search on success forum. Also durind the journey after 2 week or near you can try on yourself some benefits in the list. I'm on day 17 of no PMO and I can ensure that the benefita are true. Also after 2 week you can control the desire of masturbation better and so the journey will be more easy than the start.
The good feelings will come the longer you stay strong. Actually your counter shows 0 days. Let's talk again when it shows 20 days or more. I am sure you will feel very motivated.
Thank you for this. I just need to focus on one day at a time. Every day, every hour is its own fight. Thank you for reminding me of this.
What I do when motivation falls low, is to reread success stories and benefits. But, that should not become an obsession.
you must have to think in steps, firstly think you will are not do it by 3 days, then one week, then 2 weeks. It is a process, after 2 o 3 weeks it will be easier. you have to fight every day like if it was the lastone. God bless Us. i will pray for you
I also failed every 2 or 3 days (one time at the 6th day). Than I started a challenge https://www.nofap.com/forum/index.php?threads/challenge-who-will-win-until-the-end-of-april.99268/ and now I'm at the 9th day. So this challenge was the first motivation, but now I'm also motivated to make it to the next step...2 or 3 weeks..
