My name is Dylan and I read about nofap on an online article. I decided to use nofap because I want to stop watching porn and masturbating. Several times I've tried to stop by myself but then I would just fall back in. But I've decided I really want to stop but I need help.

    Hi Dylan and welcome! :)

It sounds like you have an addiction to porn and masturbation. It is so much easier to overcome this with support, such as you will find here. I assume this has been going on a few years. If you can say a bit about your 'journey' up to this point, we can help you with some specific suggestions.

I started watching porn about 4 years ago and I would masturbate quite frequently it wasn't until about this year that I tried to quit all together and I would stop, But everytime I thought about porn I couldnt resist, not even if in my mind I new it wasn't good for me. Finally today I decided to give Nofap a try because there are other things I want to do other than watch porn and masturbate.

OK, I understand. It is important to understand why it is so difficult to stop and how things have got to this stage. There is a website called: http://www.yourbrainonporn.com/ which contains the scientific reasons why this is an addiction. The creator of that site, scientist Gary Wilson, summarises some of these things in the following video. Also see The Glossary.

Thank you for that video and the website of your brainonporn, it taught me a lot of stuff I didn't know. Now I'm more encouraged than ever to stop PMO, and I am going to try and dedicate myself every day to come on here to update my new journey from day 1 all the way to day 90

Great! What you need to do is start a new thread in the under 20 forum - this is where personal journals are located.
