    Hi, I'm a 22 year-old who masturbates perhaps twice a day.

    I've been trying to kick the habit a while now, successfully quit smoking in October so I hoping that if I can do that, then I can succeed at this!

    But I'm not what the best way to start the rebooting is. Should I start with a challenge of a month, or a week or a day?

    How long is up to you. It depends on what you think will be the most positive effect on you. Some people are more motivated and energized by a long-distance run, others by adding success to success -- i.e., one short-term goal after another.

    For me, when I started, anything more than 30 days was too intimidating. I wanted to experience a series of successes. So I've been lengthening my goals each time. My next goal -- if I get past 190 days -- will probably be 270. I'm not sure.
