It was day 3 of my PMO today when I failed. It took me a lot of thinking after which I decided to watch a small pornographic video to get the dopamine hit. I know you might be thinking I failed and I did but to be honest I found out something from it. Porn is the syringe and dopamine is the drug in the syringe so I thought why not treating like a real drug problem. Just like drugs, giving up porn in an instance is going to give you headaches and massive withdrawal symptoms which include thinking about porn all the time. Which is exactly what drug addicts go through so why shouldn't we treat it like a drug addiction. My plan is to reset my brain and it's dopamine levels to it's normal self which I can do by not dropping it completely but rather withdrawing from it gradually. It is actually a fact proven by experts and an actual procedure done to drug addicts to help them quit drug addiction.

All you have to do is let's say you watch porn today like I did, a few days after starting PMO reboot. You must be bummed out like I am but don't worry, life is long and all you have to do is be a bit creative. So since you watched a porn video on the 3rd day, watch another short video 4 days after the 3rd or on the 7th day. After that don't watch any porn videos but rather 5 days after the 7th day, view a picture rather than a video ( Don't skip through pictures... just one). So gradually you're decreasing the level of dopamine you need to feel satisfied and according to the trend, 6 days after viewing pictures, try to get satisfaction without any source of arousal so just you and your brain. After this your dopamine level for satisfaction should be low enough to continue without any pleasure.

I know it might look like I'm trying to find an explanation for relapsing and to be honest I think too but I've found that this technique actually works but if you've gotten along then for months or days then don't follow this. I'd recommend this to newcomers such as myself who fail to stick to PMO reboot for a satisfactory amount of time.

Please don't use this as an excuse to get back to your old ways. Just do this once on the day you picked and make sure the intervals are followed. It is okay if you take longer intervals or never actually do this after doing it for a day. There are many ways to reach our goals but just know that it is same for everyone.... Quit porn!
