I actually had started reading heavily after I was given what one could consider a second chance at things in terms of my health. I wanted to know the finer aspects of mental functionality and the hidden aspects that common practices may not be able to pick up on. That's what led me to a book called 'Your Brain on Porn' and the beginning of my 'No PMO' lifestyle. From there, it was all about neuroscience. I particularly pick up books on consciousness, OCD, and addiction, since I find a lot of the content within helps with combating PMO.

The way I see it, knowing is half the battle. When you understand what you're up against, you are far better prepared to deal with it. Being able to recognize potential pitfalls emerging from my brain and separating it from my conscious self have greatly allowed me to become more confident and kinder to myself, while also having the benefit of allowing me to understand how to control the urge or successfully navigate the difficulty I'm facing. Also picked up some Dungeons & Dragons books, and honestly, those are just for fun.

I'm not really a big reader. So I don't read much books etc. But yeah I have definitely noticed that I read far more stuff online etc when I am not PMOing. When I am PMOing I guess I have much less interest in reading. I would say I do still read a little even on the days I have PMOed. But yeah the days I am not PMOing at all I am definitely reading much more.

I think what happens is when you stop the supernormal stimulus, so PMO in this case, the more boring activities become a little less boring.
