Sorry if this is posted elsewhere, but can anyone recommend a good (and preferrably free) anti-porn filter for PC? I need it.

K9 web protection is the best. Then there is cold turkey, net nanny, openDNS etc. Goodluck!

If you use Chrome, I recommend vRate as a free extension. It even blocks Youtube thumbnails!

Net nanny is worth the 50$ a year.. Plus they will give 6months free for recovering addicts but they need your sobriety partner to help set it up.. whats good about it is they have a call in phone number for tech support. and the settings can be remotly controlled by your accountability partner.. so if you need a certain site blocked or unblocked for legitimate reasons, you can just text them the info they can change the settings from their own phone.. with K9 no tech support at all and to change anything your accountability partner needs to do it in person..

I dunno how the cable company or internet service providers get away with allowing porn thorugh their service, blocking all the porn would be EASY for them to do. They should ALL be arrested for spamming porn to almost every single underage (and OF AGE) person in the United States but they are a bunch of gangsters above the 'law'

There is also an option in k9 where you bookmark that k9 page and it will let you block sites without needing the password.

K9 hasn't worked for me in the past on other laptops I've had (blue screens and the like) however on the one I have currently it works a treat. It blocks so much dubious content plus I like the fact you can allow certain sites such as this one and I like the wildcard option as well where you can input keywords which if found in a URL automatically get blocked. Now my laptop is used for productivity and nothing else.

The downside to Chrome add-ons is the fact they can be easily uninstalled. Even one I paid money for which needed a password to bypass it I discovered a way to delete it and that was quite easily found in Chrome settings so please be aware of that should you be thinking of going down that route.

Porn blocker was great but I couldn't even check my work email with it installed because the letters sex are in my companies name. Letters not even together.
