    Hi all,

First time poster, long-time addict looking to get off PM for 90 days or more and build from there.

I'm 35 and PMO has been an issue for me since my teenage years. From the time I got my hands on porn magazines around 14 years old, I've been masturbating regularly and frequently (I was a beast back then, lol). Looking back at it now, I can see that my frequent PMO'ing during those years was in part because it served as a brief mental escape from a household with domestic violence and the anxiety it caused. And although that was many years ago, to this day I still use PMO mainly as relief from something (choice of stress/boredom/depression/anxiety/etc).

PMO has been a contributing factor to other issues I've had over the years, such as social anxiety, low self-esteem, and premature ejaculation which haunted me for several years and aggravated the other issues I mentioned and ultimately my sex life (though I've gotten help with that by now). I've procrastinated and missed out on so many things while chasing that next rush online. I tried staying away from PM/PMO in the past, going on streaks lasting anywhere from a couple weeks to 3.5 months, but nothing more than that and I've relapsed each time back to the initial state or worse.

Now I'm looking to change a few things in my life, and I know PM has to be one of the first things to change! This forum seems like a good resource, and for the first time in a while I'm feeling enthusiastic about quitting so I'm looking forward to progressing towards my (first) goal of 90 days!

    Thanks.

Welcome to NoFap where you are amongst friends who are here to encourage you and sometimes challenge you but not judge you.

The enemy is here to steal, kill and destroy. What are your current strategies for combating the enemy called PMO?

Thanks man. I've so far downloaded the nofap app and also trying out having an accountability partner. Then, I've also set myself some exercise goals for each week to give me energy, make me feel good and also keep me busy and staying away from couch where things go bad.
