I recognised my addiction in 2016 and now (June 2018) I still find myself a bit stuck in the mud when it comes to making real progress in my recovery.

Sick of failing to leave the cycle, I'm considering going for professional help.
I'm hoping to build enough courage to visit an addiction centre at my local hospital next week, where (hopefully) I can be referred to a specialist.
I have also started researching week-long courses online, these are rather expensive!

Have any more senior rebooters / people advanced in their recovery already gone down this path?
Did it help in any way?
What do you think I could expect?

Thanks in advance for your responses.

  2. I've found great help from a private therapist. With my insurance, it costs me $20 and is well worth it. But you really need to find someone who not only understands addiction, but porn addiction. Usually most therapists have a free 10-minute consultation or something of that sort for both of you to see if you are a good match. I knew right away that my guy was good.

Still, most of my work with him has been addressing other personality issues that I developed along the way. That's been most beneficial overall.
