Therapists say it's unnecessary, pointless, and stupid to even consider such a thing, because there's always a root cause of the addiction. They make it sound like video games themselves create the addiction, when just like anything else it stems from lack of control, depression, anxiety, etc. It's just more stupid labelling, what about people that have an unhealthy relationship with say something like snowboarding and are even addicted to the adrenaline? Is that going to be called Snowboard Addiction? lol
