I've got good filtering software for my computer, but I find a way around every filter I've put on my smartphone. Has anyone else given thought to reverting back to an old flip phone?
Sounds like a good idea. You'll save money too, as flip phones are usually cheaper. I guess the only downside is, how much do you use the phone's regular internet features, like driving directions and email? You'd want a plan to replace those functions with other tech if they're important to ya. Personally, I like the feel of talking and texting on a flip phone. The "real" buttons and old-style angle are reassuring somehow. I got a touch screen because I thought full functionality was better, but I kind of want to switch back now.
I've decided that as soon as my contract is up with my current carrier (Dec, 2015) I too will be reverting back to a flip phone. Having the entire internet with me everywhere I go is both overwhelming and unnecessary for me. I just want to be able to maintain contact with those I care about and keep it simple.
I think this is a good idea. I'm still able to access P on my phone even though I downloaded a blocker. There's always a way around these things I guess. If you do get a flip phone, make sure you get rid of your smart phone completely that way you have no WiFi access and won't be tempted. Best of luck! - vM
I wish I could send you a pic of my vintage phone. Though I live in Venezuela, I used to have an Iphone but then muggers came and downgraded me to an oldie, broken blackberry my mom gave me. When I got my Iphone though, I had internet cancelled. Just phone calls
Thanks for the inputs and encouragement guys. I'm doing it...flip phone is on order. I'm definitely gonna sell off my smartphone. I'll let you know how it goes! Whatever it takes!
