First time 5 days PMO free in years

    I'm 5 days into my reboot now and the cravings are getting pretty intense and often. There's some depression and my brain is craving the dopamine release but on the bright side I'm not craving porn as much as I'm craving sex, which for me is a huge step. I've been addicted to porn for 15 years and its become an extremely destructive force in my life, especially in the last few years but its very encouraging to know that I want sex instead of PMO alone. I'm absolutely determined to reach a bare minimum of 90 days hard+ mode but I really want at least 180 to 270 days to fully rewire my brain but I've got to stay in the present and focus on today. I repeat to myself that all I have to do is not PMO today and try to stay as busy as possible. At night when I'm trying to go to sleep and my mind wanders is the hardest part of the day. I've been coming to nofap a lot and I can't express how much this place and people have helped me. I've tried to quit porn on my own before, but I would still masturbate and I never made it past 3 days and during that time porn was all I would think about. I'm excited to see how I am after a long reboot and how I feel and perceive things. Even if I masturbate again at some point I know that I can never go back to porn, I like the fact that I'm beginning to become attracted to real girls again and starting to desire the real thing over the artificial, fake stuff. This is just the beginning and I know things are only going to get better.

    Happy to have you with us bro'. Congrats on your streak, keep going like this !

    It's a good mindset you have, focusing on the present day. Eventually those days will pile up and you'll nail the challenge.
    It's tough to have those thoughts and urges. Maybe you should try meditation : sitting or laying on your back, breath through your nose and try to think of nothing but the passage of the air through your nostrils. I find it very soothing, I think it will help you keep your mind from wandering. Do it in your bed before you fall asleep or whenever the urges become to strong to focus on the task at hand.

    Thanks for the advice SuiLong. I will that, its something that can definitely help that I had not considered. I used masturbation as a sleeping pill for so long that I need to find something else to relax with and I think meditation might be it.

    Great work. The thing with girls work alot. I am having a great time with girl. From a guy who was Extra shy to a more Confident boy. In the past, I had been approache buy A few girls but the quickly flew away due to my Incredible weirdness. Am glad tha all this is gone. keep moving on. Abstaining from pmo is a great thing. O

    Sweet awesome job. If you need some dopamine for a pick me up do some cardio, I ride the bike at the gym when I get off that I'm on top of the world. A few songs do it for me too.

    I know what you mean about working out. I've just started jogging daily again and it helps in a big way, dopamine boost plus it wears me out and makes it much easier to sleep. I'm going to start lifting weights again, something I enjoyed and really got into for a long time but lost motivation for a few years ago. I'm sure PMO is one of the main reasons for that.

    Its amazing how the benefits, like becoming healthier and getting in shape are already happening so early.
