Fasting is a powerful reset, if you’re struggling…

Discussion in 'Compulsive Sexual Behavior' started by Deleted Account, May 9, 2023.

  1. What up boys,

If you’re struggling with any addictive sexual problem, try to do an extended water fast. Like 3 days min, up to 5-6 days. You’ll be surprised with the results.

It’s crazy difficult, but it takes your mind off of illicit sexual activities. Not saying that it’ll solve all your problems, but it could function as a catalyst and/reset for you to jumpstart your journey in fighting any sexual addiction.

Any discipline that challenges you to exert more self-control will make you a better man, and water fasting, in my experience, is one of the most difficult and rewarding.

I’m currently on day 8 of a water fast and it’s been a wild ride. Days 4-6 have been the toughest, mentally, but as I woke up on Day 7, I’ve hit a steady flow of energy where I am feeling good. It’s crazy. Im also working out in the morning to keep more muscle mass intact, while still benefiting from autophagy.

Good going. Something I will try some day. At the moment doing intermitted fasting 18 hours of no food, then 6 of food. Don't know how it deals with issues in my life but it is supposed to do your body a lot of good.

  3. I don’t think there’s an actual effect on solving sexual, relational, or emotional problems, but what it does do is develop a stronger will (self-control) and also does a reset of your dopamine levels. I felt lower lows during a 2 week fast than I did when I was coming off porn and masturbation. Not allowing yourself to indulge in food is so depressing at first, but then manageable after a few days.

Thanks for the tips. According to my experience, even if one cannot fast for days (for whatever reason), eating light, eating less, and consuming less meat (or going vegan) in general helps calming the mind. There would be significantly less craving for everything, including sex.

  5. I agree with everything you said except this. I’m pro carnivore & keto diets. So many more benefits over the long turn. Specifically for men. More fats and proteins and less carbs, and you’ll feel a million times better.

sometimes the body and mind needs to be reset to level dopamine to remove toxins from blood stream and ultimately to increase your water intake.

considering the body is something like 70% water.it is beneficial to overall wellbeing is a catch 22. people overeat because of issues with dopamine boredom etc. so of its.not porn its food.its alcohol . drugs.etc where do you start.

for me anyway i have struggled with my weight for the past year. im 230lbs and need to get down to 190.so 40-50lbs this is my goal 5 day fast then cycle on and off . its a struggle. no motivation especially after pmo . not good. anytime i watch porn i want to order takeaway lol

  8. Personally I would go on a protein sparing modified fast (psmf) in order to ensure you’re not losing lean body mass. Of course if you’re morbidly obsess then I don’t think you have worry since your body fat percentage is probably so high it could make up the extreme deficit in calories.

Regardless, this type of extreme behavior isn’t that conducive for those who already have an issue with extreme behavior. Especially for those with eating disorders. Plus, how you break your fast will determine if you will really benefit long term from it as opposed to just getting a short term benefit which ends up becoming cancelled out. It’s like the person who eats 800 cal a day for three days but then binges on a 2500 + cal on the fourth day. They’ve really just cancelled out the benefit of the rigidity of the previous days.

Small consistent changes are the hallmark of long term progress. Sure, less glamorous, but that is what also makes them harder to keep.
