Hello guys, it's almost 6 days for me with no PMO. Everything was ok till yesterday when I saw an advertising on Facebook, very provocative, I just can't get it out of my mind and I feel weaker then yesterday. I don't want to start all over again. Should I avoid social networks completely?

As a tip: whenever you see these types of advertisements, use the buttons for telling Facebook that you don't want to see them anymore.

Also, remember that these urges will pass. They always do. Only in this very moment does it not feel that way, but that's because the addicted part of your mind is trying everything it can to deceive you into getting a dopamine hit. Don't let it win.

I had to delete Instagram because my search function always brought up stuff that was triggering (not what I searched, just clicking the magnifying glass)

Facebook I was getting on ad constantly from a company that has super risky stuff. I clicked the “I don’t want to see this anymore” and haven’t had anything close to it since.

By the way, some people on this forum find it helpful to stop using any social media platforms, since they tend to contain triggering content.

What @Divine By Design said. Work on limiting Social Media / YouTube / TV time. Or just don't use it, at least for reboot. This is what I'm doing currently.

    Embrace the struggle

It's great to hear about your progress, even after two years! Dealing with tempting content on social media is a common challenge. While avoiding social networks completely might be one option, you could also explore techniques to manage your online experience.

Since your thread is from a couple of years ago, I hope you've found effective strategies to stay on track. If you're still looking for ways to utilize your online time productively, you might want to explore strategies like International link building. It can be a valuable approach to enhance your online presence.
