There was a thread in reddit NoFap about erotic stories. Question was like, "Are erotic stories equivalent to Porn?". I guess it's the same. Because, before internet porn i was so addicted to these books and used to masturbate a lot to these "stories". I think it is PORN!
It pretty much is a different version of porn, yes, because it's still stimulating you the same way, even though it's not necessarily visual. You're still fulling the same lustful desire inside of you. Not sure why anyone would want to read erotic novels or short stories if they're doing NoFap. That's stupid.
Yep before the internet i would read these stories in sex mags. Exactly the same thing, the sense of excitement rising (dopamine). It's the same fix however its dressed up. Even without the stories, the brain can make some up. The addiction needs to feed on something. If it can't get images or words in print it will use the imagination. The addiction has to be thwarted or it will keep you in its thrall. Be warned
for me porn stories are as bad as visual porn... first few times I tried 'cheating' no porn with erotic stories, just dumb.
