    Hey NoFap Community,

New user here. Apologies for a topic that is already likely discussed, but I wanted your help.

I’ve struggled with porn addiction for over 25 years since age 11. The furthest I’ve ever made in in sobriety is 90-100 days one time about two years ago. I’m currently almost at 150 days of sobriety, but I’ve got no sex drive except for wanting to act out with porn or dating sites that then lead me to look at porn/fantasize.

I’m just worried that I’ll never get erections again. I barely get any morning wood and it’s super weak when I do. I just feel pretty pathetic and emasculated, and would really like to function normally.

When from your experience should things start to turn around?

At 5 months of sobriety I just had this image of not perfection but things really turning around and I’m not feeling that or seeing that down south with erections.

    Thanks for reading and responding!

From what I've read its not cut and dry. People's minds and bodies have different reactions to different things. I am more than a month in and have seen little progress. However, I was addicted to that filth from before ten to 24, and it has affected my erections for years now. My suggestion: accept the fact that it will take longer than you want it to and expected. Don't let hopelessness blind you. Focus on staying clean from porn, and improving your life. Instead of being afraid, use what future opportunities you are shooting for as motivation to be a man on a mission. Just because you are in this current situation because of the past, does not mean your future is destroyed. Make your future worth it by staying on track. Combine dopamine from healthy habits with motivation to give you the results you want. You got this!

I know your pain man. Check out Gabe Deems story on YouTube. He started his recovery around your age and he was in a total flatline until about 8 months. The first time I saw progress was around the 7 month mark, but then I relapsed... Don't make that mistake, never turn back to porn.

Do you have a link to a video where Gave Deems talks about that 7 month point?

It’s been 167 days for me as of today. The craving for porn right now is super high in my brain - I’ve got a lot of work related stress and studying going on that is inducing it by feeling overwhelmed.

But bro…all it feels like I want to do in my head is have sex with anyone. But there’s no response down stairs. (I haven’t checked by masurbating because I would be acting out, but just in general.)

I find myself wondering when this crap will end in terms of cravings and when I’ll be back to normal downstairs. I’m just so so SO over this…

I'm in a similar situation, long time porn user (started at around 13, for 28 years), 94 days sober, weak libido and unable to get solid erection by will and wondering if I could ever heal properly. Only difference with you (for what I can read) is that at least I get morning wood, not so often and it depends by periods, and with different hardness (I would say an average of 50-60%). I didn't have lots of longer streaks (started anyway 2 years ago), but it seems to me that every time I relapse, I need to build longer streaks to be at the same previous level.

It could be your brain is just craving the dopamine hit and is not actually craving natural sex. The only way to know for sure is by having sex and seeing how you do. If it doesn't work, give it some more time. Whatever you do, don't relapse to PMO.

I am on day 196 of no PMO and still flatlining hard. Little libido. Just recently I began getting morning erections and nocturnal erections.

Other symptoms: apathy, depression, irritability, overall feeling like crap

I am 40 y.o., and 25+ years of pornography abuse.

This addiction is an awful, awful thing.

Hang in there because it's worth it. Just don't use P.

Thank you very very much for sharing that as well. I just finished watching it.

I have a support group I go to on Sundays and find it’s been helpful to have others in a similar situation to talk to. I feel the same way about this space. Thank y’all for your advice, encouragement, and care for each other.

    Each of y’all are a blessing. ☺️

I totally agree. I used to be regular in the gym, but studying for work has become consuming. I’d like to pick up the routine again. I don’t think I realized how much it helped with relieving stress and anxiety.

Go to a Urologist, who specializes in ED. If needed they can prescribe the right meds for you and you will be fixed in no time. I'm 65 and started noticing issues at about 63-years old. I could function, but not all the time, and not always as hard as I should be. Once I got on meds, my ED went away.

Go lift weights and change you diet . Focus on leg day and back . I am in NoFap , when I finish legs day I feel horney in the next day . I think it's because the blood flow in down side . May this will help with you morning erection.

Same situation as you man. I'm 24 and I noticed about 2 years ago that I usually needed to push on the base to feel like I had a full erection during M. Wasn't even aware of it until the idea that it was a problem started creeping into my mind. I've wanted to quit for a while, but recently there were a couple times during M when I literally had O without an erection. That was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. I really do believe half of it is a mental game. As for the other half, exercise and diet as others have said. Obviously weight training and diet, but I think the value of cardio is undersold in the fitness community. Really good for circulation and testosterone, as I'm starting to see. I also suspect my problem is induced not only by PMO, but also by my nicotine addiction, which is the next thing I'm going to quit after I get this under control. I've read it can do a lot of damage to blood circulation, so keep that in mind to any fellows in here who also have nicotine addictions.

Stay strong brother, we're all in this together.

Just curious, is the medication something like a pill that you take before sex? Or does it address the underlying issue

It's just a pill used only for sex. For it to work you have to be in the mood for sex, it's not going to give you a hard-on without a reason to have one. As others have said, sex is both physical and mental. If your brain is not into it, your body won't perform correctly.

For me just knowing that the pill was going to help, let me relax and not have anxiety about whether I would be able to get hard. That is enough to keep me going most of the time.

Just to add that those pills works if your brain is in shape. If you suffer PIED, those pills won't work.
