I responded to two people using basically the same response that I feel may be helpful to others who may be interested in "transgendered person porn." or just trans persons in general. Now, I do understand that a fetish is something different than just having an interest or the occasional attraction to trans person. For some there ARE underlying issues for why they are attracted to trans persons and trans porn.> THAT is a whole other thread and issues. But for the purpose of general issue of being attracted to trans persons and then questioning your sexuality, I felt my response could be helpful. Feel free to PVT me with questions or comments. Here it is :
*** I would be glad to correspond with you about this issue brother. Its very complicated, and like sexuality, sometimes gender can be on a continuum as well (both can) I have seen a few interesting situations happen with gender and sexuality.
First off, sexual orientation (SO) and Gender Identity (GI) are two totally different things just an FYI but you probably know that. Typically (and this does not apply to bisexual so much) if you are a straight man and like only women BUT feel trans, should you begin to transition 99% of the time your sexuality in reality does not change. However, it WILL change to the view of others when you transition.

For instance, a str8 man who likes women is straight. WHen he becomes a woman, he STILL LIkes women, howevrer, that NOW Makes him "appear" as a lesbian bc now SHE is a woman sexually interested in woman (prior HE still liked women). Same thing for a woman that is heterosexual (attracted to men ) and then SHE becomes a MAN. HE (now) STILL Likes men and APPEARS to be a gay man. SO the SO only changes in societies view of you as gay (this is grossly generalizing here bc I do see ALL trans as their chosen genders, not being disrepectful here when i say appears).

Now, a few things about S/0. To be gay OR Bi you have to 1. not ONLY be physically and sexually attracted but also have romantic inclinations and the ability to fall in love. otherwise, one can just say they like kinky same sex behaviors. This is one reason that the CDC has changed the qualifications for HIV stats from GAY MEN to "Men who have sex with men." Prison sex is not about sex- its about domination and control. Most of those men that have gay sex in prison are not gay in reality.

So a few examples here. A cisgendered man (that means his gender matches hi body) who is heterosexual is only attracted to women. However, he finds trans women attractive for some reason. There COULD be a variety of reasons behind this. But on the surface, its not accurate to call him gay or bi. Why? Bc to be gay he must be attracted (both physically and romantically ) to MEN, not just penises. Men that look like man (manly features, not saying only "Manly men" vs"femme men."). The whole appeal of men and everything along with it-from very flamboyant men to very butch- but men in general. To be BI he must have an attraction to women as well (the same thing, the whole package bc theres no standard type-some thinner, some very femme, some less femme). So when a man has a sexual interest or can fall in love with a trans woman, he is at least in his mind falling in love with a WOMAN. He is not attracted to her as a man.She just so happens (if shes pre-op) to have a penis. And if shes post op, that shouldnt matter physically to you as far as attraction. If yo have a hang up bc of genetics than thats a different story. This is one of the reasons the term pansexual has been created, bc only have str8/bi/gay does not always describe our situation.

I Now offer you my own personal experience that I was kind of surprised about once I did some deep reflection. Fact : I am a gay man. NOOOO attraction to women whatsoever sexually. I can appreciate a beautiful woman's asthetics, however the thought of "down there" just really does nothing for me. Observation: I have found that i can be extremely attracted to transmen (women that have transitioned to being a man). Most of them are pre op but for the most part their GRS/SRS (sexual/gender reassignment surgery) is not always as successful or passable as MTF (Male to female).

So I wondered, wow what does this make me. It still makes me a GAY man that likes people who present as men; all things manly be it very butch or less butch, but nevertheless, manly. Could I enter into a relationship with a pre op transman? I thought about this. Since the said person presents and thinks as a man and lives as a man etc. I probably could romantically and sexually be turned on. But what to do about "down there?" Well, I finally said to myself, "Id have to figure that out later and work on how to please both of us, but I would work through it. " Does that make me heterosexual or bi?? No way. Bc to be str8 or bi i would ALSO have to be attracted to women that look and present like women. So the flipside is also true for me. And this may make LESS sense at this point. I asked myself, "could I have a sexual and romantic relationship with a MTF transwoman.

So I came to the conclusion I probably could PROVIDED they were pre op. Now, before everyone jumps on me and says that that is putting pressure on trans women not to have the surgery, this is not what I am saying. Then go have. I just wont be sexually attracted anymore. . Just like I would get used to "Down there" with the transman with a vag, I could get used to boobs, so to speak. However, if the transwoman was pre-op, I would still have the potential of some type of sexually pleasing life with her. Romantically, I dont know if i could fall in love though. Who knows. SO I think that makes me PANSEXUAL: having the ability to fall in love and have sex with a variety of genders. It seems the only one that would not work for me is genetic Ciswomen. But that's just me.

I hope this sheds some light into the situation and I know this is long but I hope it can answer some of your questions. Feel free to write me , anyone, about this issue> Im not an expert, however, I have personal trans friends as well as the men that love them. I have also lectured county wide and agency wide on the issue of trans issues. Thanks.
