During my last few attempts to reboot, usually lasting around 2 weeks, ive been experiencing dreams of me looking up porn or having dreams with pornstars in them. After waking up, i always feel bad, similar to the effect of actually watching porn and tend to relapse as a result. Losing progress from these dreams are really destroying my motivation to keep progressing. Any advice?

This happened to me as well, and still happens. In fact the first few weeks it happened regularly.
This is your addiction playing tricks on you. So long as you don't consciously PMO you are good.

This has happened to me and I often look up P in the morning after I wake up when it happens.

Don't do it! Let it just be a dream and move on.

You have urges, that shows in your dreams. But think about good you will feel if you control those urges and enter the path of NoFap

About how many weeks, and does it stop the deeper into your reboot?

Its not that im feeling bad about seeing porn in my dream, its that i litterally am feeling anxious and depressed as a result of the dreams, mornings where i havent had those dreams i often feel better than the mornings i do.

I'm about a month into this reboot, my personal record and I had one last night. I will say that I PMO more than anyone I know. I've spend countless hours at a time doing it. PMO was my favorite pass time, so I expect the dreams will continue for a while.

Don't sweat those dreams at all they are your brain trying to hold on to those memories I get less of those porn dreams and more about real women

  8. I am having erotic dream every night since I started but you got to hold strong that is one of those things that the instructions are simple but following them takes strengh and it hurts, you need to have a strong reason to quit PMO and hold on to it.

It happens to everyone, and shouldn't be considered a relapse. Odds are you'll have more porn dreams. Nothing is wrong with you as long as you choose not to look at porn.

I suffered from these dreams too and even worse felt the exact same emotions of depression and anxiety as you.

You need to accept 1 thing above anything else: you have the brain of an addict.

I don't know how many days you're sober but depending on the number you have to understand that your brain isn't getting the same dopamine kick anymore. So, as it's still addicted, it looks for alternative ways to generate the sensation.

Don't be hard on yourself because it's progress if anything. Keep going.

I get these too. Thanks for the great support guys. I think it's a tricky one, a battle between the animal instincts and the conscious will!
At least thinking of it as an epic battle of evolution makes me feel pretty awesome about having these dreams

I'm a week into my journey. I had one such dream last night. It started with me waking up at around 2am and wanting to come downstairs and watch porn. I rolled over and eventually went back to sleep instead. During that sleep I had the dream. It didn't contain any actual porn, just an image of me sitting at my computer with those old feeling of "Oh no, I just relapsed. Might as well just enjoy it now". A little bit later I woke up. It actually took me a minute to realise that it was only a dream, and that I hadn't just relapsed after all.

I got up, punched the air and said "YEAH!". If I've just refused to PMO and my addicted brain had to result to an unconscious dream to get a shot of dopamine, that's a win. There will be more battles ahead of course, but at 6.15am today, I'm celebrating a small victory.

Yes, I find that these happen more often when you wake up and go back to sleep, or when you oversleep or snooze in the morning.
Congratulations on your small victory. I know the feeling of waking up and finding out it was just a bad dream - such a relief!

  15. Thank you for this thread. I had a dream of watching pornography two nights ago, complete with active actual porn stars saying it was alright for me to watch. I remember thinking to myself, in-dream, that this wasn't what I'd planned on doing, and excused myself pretty quickly. I woke up a short time later to a flaccid penis and clean sheets, so whatever happened, it didn't go anywhere. I also recall not feeling bad, or the need to PMO, but did feel bad that the dream had occurred.

In retrospect, I think I've dreamt of porn a lot more than I've dreamt of actual erotic encounters for myself. Maybe even my subconscious is trying to re-enforce my worldview, which doesn't rate me to highly in regards to others, particularly women.
