Does looking at scantily clad people in person count as porn subs?

Just trying to clear it up. In my mind, a porn sub is a non-human source, such as photos, recordings, etc. Whereas, if I were to see a scantily clad person in person and give them a stare or a double-take, it would be a more human situation, so it would be healthier (And maybe even just healthy?). Basically, it's an actual human person instead of pixels.

    Just wondering!

    Thanks,

I'm no expert, but I think that you have a proper perspective. Short of becoming a hermit or poking your eyes out, you can't really avoid that sort of thing. Anything that isn't a trigger for you to fap is just part of life; but what constitutes a trigger could vary for different fapstronauts. There's a big difference between thinking, "Wow, she's hot!" and "Lusting after her makes me so hot that I want to go straight home and fap my brains out."

I'd still be interested in hearing the opinion of those who are experts.

Treating women as objects to leer at is not healthy. Attraction to women is healthy but staring at scantily clad women is not going to help you in recovery. Half the battle in NoFap is stopping the objectification of women. You see even though that woman is a real live person you aren't treating her that way, she is a sum of body parts to you and your addicted brain. Appreciating a beautiful woman and fantasizing about one are two different things. One is healthy and natural and one is not.

Thanks a lot for the insightful responses, mv and Limeaid.

Limeaid: I see. I think you're right; objectifying people takes away from the pleasure that is emotional connection, which is a bond that I seek.

I admit, it's tough for me not to lust when I see a scantily clad person; it's tough for me not to do a double take, to stare for a few seconds, to possibly fantasize for a few seconds. I'm not sure I could just appreciate the person for their sexiness, as opposed to also lusting them for their sexiness. Is it really unnatural to lust for a physically attractive person who's near you? Are there any studies or evidence out there? I saw the YBOP video and loved the scientific evidence on porn addiction, but it didn't delve into this specific topic.

I'm not necessarily seeking to refute your claims; I'm honestly looking for answers and clarification so that I can learn more. I'm still new to this realm.

    Thanks again.
