Distress cycle

The addict feels guilty. It's a cycle he's been a part of many times. Perhaps he had already promised himself that he would never return to this place. But he returned. This gives rise to a sense of anguish and hopelessness. This creates a need for additional sexual activity that will help the addict to detach from the unpleasant feeling and thus the vicious cycle continues...
