Disgusting P thoughts (Triggers)

Discussion in 'Porn Addiction' started by Deleted Account, Aug 4, 2018.

  1. Captain Rex reporting. So, it's been over a year and counting without a single relapse (thx to my iron will) but I have a small problem, it's that I sometimes have really nasty memories of certain P movies. I end up having thoughts of the most violent and repulsive sexual acts I ever seen (like **ting *ss for example).

This really bugs me like hell. Those disgusting porn thoughts are trying to bring me out of the present, so how do I deal with them?? I do meditate fairly often (like 20-50 minutes a day) but those thoughts still show up outta nowhere. Got any tips for dealing with this? Captain Rex, out.

  2. You don't do anything about them. Its the same as saying : don't think about a pink elephant " but then you instantly think of it. Just do you and don't worry too much when they come. As they come, they ll go and the less you try to fight them the easier will be to forget. Speaking from experience!

  3. Oh yeah, thanks bro, I just realized that thoughts are just thoughts. They don't define who I am and I think of them as clouds that drift through my head. I also realized that I am the master of my mind, not the other way around. So yeah, thanks for the advice!

I have been struggling in the way you have. I’m on day 18 and think back to the worst parts of the porn but like the other guy said, it’s all about how important we make it. ‘Is it important?’ , well not really, not as important as the other things we got going on in life right?

It’s easy to think of our past but forget how far we’ve come since then. We just have to learn from what went wrong and do what it takes to never return to it. The fact your here also means you wanted to proactively do something about it - you weren’t happy about the way it was making you feel, which means your a good person despite your addiction, your not one of the people out there who will watch it all but who are never sorry. I think there is a lot to be said about that and respect for coming here to sort it out.

Like I said, I am going through the same as you man. Keep your head up, continue no porn and good luck!
