    Hi everyone,

I am 33 and have been watching porn for 15 years. I noticed early signs of addiction (e.g. having the urge to watch a cpl of times a week) several years ago. And I have been watching it 5-6 hours a day for the past 5 years. I am partnered and I have PIED and PIPE. So, here I am. I want to/need to start the challenge but I do not know where to start.

To make things worse, I am physically disabled and have a lot of underlying health issues, which makes me unable to exercise. All my hobbies are online. Honestly, I feel there is no hop. Do you know anyone who was disabled and successfully quit porn? Please tell me there is hope...

Being disabled will take away some of the options people suggest, like intense exercising, but NoFap is largely a mindgame. There is definitely hope.. what is difficult is that many members focus on getting offline, whereas that is not as much of an option for you. 5-6 hours a day is a lot of time to spend watching porn. How do you plan to replace that time? What other things give you enjoyment?

@SilentWolfSong raised some great points regarding the majority of members within this community. @hardtoname - you are definitely dealing with some different variables, however, there is plenty of hope in this community.

Have you considered enrolling in different online educational opportunities? There are countless free online courses you could potentially leverage for career purposes. Are you a big reader? Do you like the arts? Both of these can be computer based as well.

At the end of the day, we have to be willing to go to any length to get sober. If you are willing to go to any length, than leverage this community and all it's great people to help you during your journey. We are here to support 100%!

    Wishing you the absolute best!

Thank you so much for replying. That is my problem. Really don't know how to fill that time. Especially my brain keeps asking for something very exciting and I have hard time finding activities to fill out that time. I like gaming, but I am afraid I become addicted to that one too, though I think it is much healthier than porn.

Thank you so much for replying and giving me hope. You guys are amazing.

I like computer games, but I am afraid of getting addicted to it. I also like to study finance and I have been trying to take some courses. I am stock between a rock and a hard place. My problem is that my brain asks for excitement all the time and when I am not on porn, I lose focus and have hard time focusing on things like reading etc. On the other hand, my body does not allow me to do physical activities to diffuse my mind.

Sorry for being so negative and thanks for all the positive words you gave

Not negative at all bro. These are the struggles we face...you don't have to apologize for that here in this community.

I would suggest starting a NoFap journal and contributing as much as you can - I update two times per day on average. This is a healthy activity/recovery tool that will provide you the space to discuss your struggles and successes. It also keeps you present in this community and holds you accountable.

I would also suggest diving deeper in to the forums. Read about the struggles of others and add some replies. Try to get in the center of this thing...it really can be life changing. Just keep in mind, this is a process and it doesn't typically happen over night.

Looking forward to reading more about your journey!

  7. Hi, I think you've come to the right place. I'm pretty sure there are other physically disabled people on here, it might be worth making a thread elsewhere specifically talking about it and your personal struggle. I'm technically classed as physically disabled under the law but I don't really consider myself as such. I'm certainly able to do most things other people do. It sometimes gets on top of me mentally though and it has led to relapse in the past. I think it's important to understand your own limitations and not be defined by them, instead focusing on what you can do instead.

Thank you so much. That is a good idea. I will start journaling and be more active. I think spending time here helps passing the time.

I also looked at your journal and I see what you are talking about. I am noob and appreciate all the suggestions

    Hi,
Thank you so much for the reply. Very good point. For now, everything looks more scary than knowing what my limitations are!
As for me, I am also able to do most things, but with a lot of care and very slowly. I am very limited in physical movements and can't hit the gym though.
Maybe you are right, I searched a little bit but didn't find anything about disabled. Knowing I am not alone helps....

    Thanks anyways

Of course! That's what this thing is all about. Getting sober and helping others.
