Desperately want to stop!

Discussion in 'New to NoFap' started by Deleted Account, Jan 14, 2024.

  1. Was a member year a few years back, obviously I couldn’t stop. All I want to do is quit PMO, but with today’s tech (phones) I can maybe make it a day, maybe two. Just hoping to stop and focus on fitness or something.

  2. My first advice to you if you see your "phone" as a problem, is to get yourself a porn blocker and get rid of social medias, Instagram as an example (if you have it). I had to get rid of Instagram because it gave me to many triggers, and if I didn't took that step to delete it, I probably wouldn't be where I am today. Instagram has a awful filtering system and some content that people post, could "in my eyes" be close to porngraphic material.

Do yourself a favor if you really want to quit PMO, make it as hard as possible on both your phone or computer to get to porngraphic content or other erotic stuff. Because the harder it is for you to try to get to those porn sites, the less motivation you'll have to even try, because it will be more or less impossible.

Start there, if you haven't already done this. Breaking from PMO is a living hell sometimes but it will totally be worth it in the end. You will be reborn as a new you and never wanna get back to that shit. I wish you luck!

  3. Right, I have used the built in IOS parental controls previously with some success, it is just difficult finding someone to control the PIN. As for other services/apps, I feel I could just delete them too easily. Any recommendations on something that has accountability partners that can see if you delete the app or something like that?

  4. I use an app called "BlockerHero" which hopefully is available on IOS as well, I have android. Unfortunately the free version is very limited with settings. I wanted to go all in and because of that I pay a small fee every month to get the ultimate protection against what shit the internet has to offer.

In the app you have 3 option who can remove the block from your phone. You, a partner/friend or the company itself. Maybe I wouldn't suggest to pick the company itself, because than you might have to contact them and explain why you want to remove it or similar, but yourself or a partner/friend would have been a good idea. Even though you pick yourself, you need to wright a lots of different words correctly and you only have 5 minutes of time during those 10 attempts every day. I have tried and I have never successfully done it. It's hard as hell! Which of course is a good thing also.

Plus in the app you can block certain websites and words as well. Even though words like sex, porn and some others are blocked as soon as you begin using the app, words like boobs, vagina, ass, you get it, can still come through the blocker. So if you wanna go hardcore as I did, try to block as many triggering words and websites as possible to make yourself as safe as the Fort Knox itself. Not a single of those words you block will it let you watch. You aren't even able to type in one of those blocked words in the search bar when I think about it, LoL.

But you are only able to get the full protection and go hardcore if you you pay a small fee every month for premium. Maybe it's worth it as much for you as it has been for me?

  5. Damn, does not seem to be in the Apple App Store. I’m sure there has to be something similar.

  6. Well, that's unfortunate :/

Hopefully you are able to find something similar to IPhone. Unfortunately I have nothing else to recommend since I don't have a IPhone, but google is a great place to search for recommend blocking apps to IPhone and hopefully you'll find something.
