Day 47 and feels different this time

This is not yet the full story but I wanted to celebrate reaching day 47 with no porn or masturbation in 2020. This is definitely the longest ever without porn or masturbation in my adult life.

I really feel good and my head is the clearest it has been for a long time. My PIED is mostly cured and the sex is getting better each time although I still have some anxiety when things start to get serious but that soon disappears.

This time really feels different. Previously I quit in disgust with myself but had no plan. Of course this meant that when the guilt and disgust wore off I was back to PMO. I found NoFap after reading an article on the BBC about porn addiction and it really has been a game changer. I have learned so much about what to expect, how to analyse my addiction and importantly how to avoid getting sucked back in. Reading and reflecting on the experiences of others in a similar position really helps. I hope that in time I am able to fully share what I have learned.

My most important realisation is that PORN CAN NEVER BE A PART OF MY LIFE AGAIN. I quit smoking a few years ago using Allen Carr. The key thing he said was “you can never smoke again”. That was hard to take and not until later when I realised that unless you were willing to admit that to yourself and agree that with yourself, you could never be free of the addiction. I believe the same is true of PORN.
