Really want to reboot my brain and stop all this pied once and for all. Ive been trying to since December and the longest ive gone in 10 days. I just blocked porn on my ipad, iphone and computer. At first I used a code on restrictions that I would remember and then just put it in when I wanted to watch porn. Now both Iphone and Ipad have random codes which I forgot. Also I downloaded K9 blocker for my computer, which I kept just putting in the password when I wanted to watch porn. Today I had my dad put in a password and he wont ever tell me. He knows about my problem and Im confertable talking about it with him, my mom, and my therapist. Really would Love to go on a long streak now that its almost impossible for me to watch porn. Any thoughts?

    Hey man!

Just the fact that you're on NoFap shows that you're serious about kicking this addiction. Also the fact that you are able to talk with your parents about it is awesome. It's so much easier when you have family support.

I think if you really can't control yourself, blockers are a great tool. But the best thing you can do is to be able to stay away form porn without the use of blockers. As long as that blocker is the only thing keeping you from searching out porn, you will never reboot because you are still obviously addicted. You have to be able to teach yourself that you have the power to stay away from it. I'm on Day 6 currently and I don't have a blocker on any of my devices, even my phone (which is what I always use to PMO). I did try it, but just like you I always knew the password and nothing kept me from disabling the blocker and relapsing.

What I found that has really helped me get to 6 days (I usually only get to 2-3 days without relapsing) is to get rid of any "triggers". Like for me a big one was Instagram. I would wake up and just peruse the "explore" tap and purposely look for hot gym models and that would get me in the mindset, and all of the sudden I'm typing in www.[yoursitehere].com.

So some advice for you would be to get rid of all of the things that trigger you, and make sure you visit this site at least once a day. I'm here probably 2-3 times a day and this is the longest streak I've had in a while.

Just know that we're all here for you. Don't give up!

I think adding blockers (and therefore making difficult to just type the URL and get access) is an important step. The thing is (, and I am speaking from personal, learned-the-painful-way experience), web filters and other stuff are only helpful to a limited degree: I have been on NoFap for a while and it seems I need to get rid of my own emotional dependency on Porn before I can finally be free.

So my advice would be to rest assured you won't have access to Porn from your devices once you get back home, and then go out and live your life the best way you can. Most of the fight is inside and not on the computer.
