Contemplating His Passion

The book "Spiritual Combat", advises to contemplate Our Lord's Passion when we are being bombarded by the devil with temptation. I have found that this technique never fails to quell temptation in me.

I was led to this video last night. The humble priest has a very extensive knowledge of the Shroud of Turin built upon a strong knowledge of anatomy, chemistry and physics. He begins this conversation by discussing the science which verifies the authenticity of the shroud and then moves on to explain how the marks on the shroud reveal the nature of Christ's wounds and the incredible agony He endured from each of them.

I agree with those who find the agony of Christ hard to think about but as Cardinal Ratzinger said, unless we contemplate Christ's passion we cannot truly fathom the depth of His love for us.
