Can someone provide some official statistics for porn addiction?

Some of my friends want to make up brochures or posters to reveal the truth about porn addiction and calling for people to stop looking at them. The reason is in my school many people watch porn videos and masturbate. But after searching on the internet, I found very little pieces of things for porn addiction as well as the harm of masturbation. I searched on the WHO website and CDC website, but they do not have related articles and statistics. All the information is from porn recovery sites. If there's no data and information from formal institutes, I don't think I can persuade them from stopping seeing porn and masturbate.

Can someone help us? Thanks so much!

  2. I suspect that you're not going to find any such statistics. It seems that there are pushes to accept porn consumption and masturbation as perfectly healthy and normal when we both know that it's not.

Sadly, making the logical and moral case and using anecdotes from places like NoFap is the best option.

There are plenty of such studies available on the net, this site used to have many of them (still here if you dig deep enough) showing how harmful PMO is to your brain and body, what with all the neuroplasticity, neurotransmitter, loss of nutrients or such, you literally have to type something similar to this on google and you will get plenty of such studies, i got one right here : https://sites.tufts.edu/emotiononth...oital-neurochemistry-the-blues-and-the-highs/, as you can see it can take up to two weeks for your brain to recover after orgasm, i even remember a crazy post of a study(done on rats) showing that long term frequent orgasm lead to a decrease of androgen receptors in the brain, which as i understand it is for a male somewhat similar to chemical castration.

But there are also plenty of other studies showing that regular sex or even masturbation are instead good for your health, those are largely a reaction to more ancient studies showing instead that all manners of ills are caused by excess of sex or just masturbation, things like blindness or insanity.

these days people don't post this kind of stuff and it's hard to find the relevant ones even if you have a lot of free time, most of it anyways come from the site https://www.yourbrainonporn.com/, but as i wrote before there are many other studies challenging these ones so you shouldn't take it as gospel.
