Definition: Creating different neuronal connections between the brain and certain relapse triggering images.

One of the biggest obstacles in abstaining from pmo are unexpected sexually stimulating images. These images can range from ads of stimulating woman on a web page to movies containing sexually stimulating scenes.

The typical way that people deal with this obstacle is by attempting to completely avoid it, rather it be website blockers, or shutting yourself off from the world and living in a cave. This strategy is effective until a rebooter unexpectedly comes across a sexually stimulating image, sending them back into relapse.

Through my own experience of this problem and others, I have created this thread to provide a possible solution.

I suggest that instead of completely avoiding sexually stimulating images, we use these images to recondition the way we process them all together.

There is a few ways I believe we can go about this. The most affective( and most difficult) is to continue to expose ourselves to situations where these images could unexpectedly occur. In this moment one would be very volnurable, as the image would have a greater influence on the subconscious. In this moment of temptation to relapse, one would use shere logical thinking to let go of any sexual thoughts and feelings toward the image, an move on.

Secondly, providing a reinforcement to option one, one could consciously subject themselves to sexually stimulating images with the intent of holding now sexual thoughts or feelings toward the image. Since this is a conscious effort, one will be prepared to let go of these feelings and thoughts if they come up, making letting go a much easier affair.

By consciously conditioning yourself to let go of these thoughts and feelings, it will become a habit to do so when one exepectedly comes across these images.

Overtime, as you recondition your brain to let go of sexual thoughts and feelings towards certain images, your brain will require itself to not hold these thought and feelings in the first places, rendering these images ineffective on you.

With sufficent practice, this should make the rebooting process exponentially easier.

Feel free to dispute this point, and ask any questions you might have!

I'd been thinking the same thing. I totally agree with that.
