So I'm 20 days in and I randomly get the blue balls feeling. You know when you feel they're so full they're about to explode? yeah, that feeling.

I currently don't have a girl so no PMO means no O at all for now, which is pretty damn insane. Anyway, do you guys ever get that pain in the balls? and if so, how do you deal with it?

Maybe your nuts will explode - when you're asleep! Yes, we all get them sometimes. Any pain will only go so far, level off and slowly go again. I have heard that running cold water on your twig and berries helps.

I agree with IGY, cold shower should help.

Also I seem to only get it when I'm hungover. Which tends to be every weekend.

I will try the cold showers though.

I get blue balls pretty frequently. After observation I've come to one inescapable conclusion, it is a withdraw symptom. The thing to remember, Ghost, is that your balls will never explode on you and you are not harming yourself by ignoring the pain.

The most common solution to blue balls that most men use is masturbation but we fapstronauts can't because we've elected, for one reason or another, to abstain from masturbation. So what does that leave us? Well thankfully nature gave us a release valve for that excess sperm that isn't being released and we don't have to touch ourselves to use it. This release valve is the wet dream.

As for what this means for when you get blue balls, well there is no easy solution there. All you can really do is wait it out. I have found that taking Advil and icing my balls for 5 to 10 minutes, helps reduce the pain while I wait for the blood eventually leave my balls.

Which leads me to another point. True blue balls are a result of having an erection and no release, the blood gets trapped and it gives you that heavy, full to bursting feeling. However, I have learned that it is possible to get "false blue balls" and THAT, my friend, is your brain trying to trick you into masturbation.

Either way the pain will eventually go away. Just use Advil and ice to help deal with the pain while you wait it out.

    Good luck.

Blue balls = vasocongestion of the testicles

For those that wonder what this is all about, here is a summary: Vasocongestion is the swelling of bodily tissues caused by increased vascular blood flow and a localized increase in blood pressure. The temporary vasocongestion of the cheeks of the face is called blushing. It may be caused by the emotions of anger or embarrassment. Vasocongestion of the area around the anus can lead to the formation of haemorrhoids.

Unpleasant side effects of sex-related vasocongestion may lead to the cramp-like pain of blue balls in males and an unpleasant pelvic heaviness in women, similar to the start of the menstruation cycle. Menstrual cramps are one of the most common side effects of vasocongestion in sexually mature females.

Vasocongestion is essential for sexual procreation in mammals since this is the force that causes the hardening of the penis during an erection. The same force leads to the hardening of the clitoris and vaginal lubrication during sexual arousal. Other forms of vasocongestion during human sexual activity include sex flush and the swelling of nipples in both men and women.

I also experienced this for one day for 1-2 hours. Stay hydrated when doing your reboot. That is the biggest advice I can give.

I do, I go to the gym & play football so I drink about 2,5 - 3 liters of water / day.

Anyway, I know they don't explode :). Sperm is perishable so it usually get broken down after a few days if not released, so new sperms can take its place. But I guess fluctuations occur so wet dreams are one way your body solves the problem.

Took my first cold shower today. It was kinda brutal but I loved the after feeling. Hot showers numb me physically and psychically, cold shower did the exact opposite.

Meditation...I gotta be honest, I don't really get it.

I learned to enjoy what I call "false blue balls" because I knew it was just my brain trying to get me to give it what it wants.

I too didn't get mediation. The word makes it seem like it some sort of mystical thing only Buddhists or weird people do. I read about different sort of weird mediating techniques, and these texts are always filled with words that make you question the sanity of the person writing them. However, meditation isn't what most people claim it is. It isn't mystical and it isn't hard to do.

As you may already know, a lot of studies shows the benefits of mediating. I read some of them, but none convinced me to start. What got me into mediating is the BBC horizon documentary called "The Truth About Personality" (I really suggest you watch it if you are interested in the subject). From what I recall, the documentary investigates the subject of optimism and how to be more happy in life.

Now, don't worry, if you want to meditate you won't need to shave you hair, sit cross legged for 2 hours, chant weird words you don't know the meaning of, nor go in a temple in the mountains and sacrifice your life since "life is suffering".

What I believe is "healthy mediation", and what I do is:
    1- Sit on a chair
    2- Close your eyes
    3- Try to not move
4- Try to think about nothing
And if you can't "think about nothing", no worries, just keep sitting on that chair, keep trying, with time it will become easier. In fact, I don't believe anyone can "think about nothing". The main word to retain here is try. If you can try, then voila! You are meditating. :)

I have been doing this before going to bed, for 20 minutes every night (no matter if I am tired or not, it has become a habit I don't want to stop). I am 7 months in now, and it changed me AS much as a lot people claim nofap changed them (you know, "superpowers").

The healthiest "mediation technique", IMO, and described in the book "The Willpower Instinct" by Kelly McGonigal (Starts at page 15 in the pdf "TRAIN YOUR BRAIN FOR WILLPOWER" until the end of the pdf.) I had read the book before hand, but started "meditating" as an experiment after watching the documentary. And I'd suggest to not do more than what the book says. Know that a lot of mediating articles are written by extremists xD.

It doesn't hurt to try if you sleep in a room by yourself. 20 minutes a night doesn't hurt. Plus, you can experience the changes after 6 weeks of doing it daily, which is much faster than nofap.
    Good luck! ^^
