    Greetings, fellow Fapstronauts!

My name is Maskwa91, but you can call me Bear. My Cree (name of my native tribe) name is Osaw Maskwa (O-sow Musk-wah) - which means Brown Bear. For those of you who are interested, I can share with you the origin and relevance of this name and why it is important to me in a different post. For now - onto the rest of the introduction...

I am a 26 year old male from central Saskatchewan, Canada. I currently study in Alberta, Canada and will attain a BA in Justice Studies in two more years. My plan is to go into policing and afterwards become a lawyer. I've been a locksmith for the past four years and currently work security at a casino.

As I write this I am currently on day 45 of No PMO (Porn, Masturbation, Orgasm) and have just decided to join the NoFap community. I stumbled upon the site while Googling success stories and lists of benefits of NoFap. For a few days I was reading success story after success story and felt empowered to join in the conversation. I am excited to be a part of this great movement and look forward to sharing my experiences with others while offering advice, words of encouragement, as well as listening to what others have to say.

I have been a PMO addict for several years - I discovered masturbation at age 5 and pornography at age 12. My porn and masturbation habits were quite severe for my entire teenage years and for a few years in my early 20's until 45 days ago. I have struggled with Premature Ejaculation since I was 16 and Erectile Dysfunction (to a small extent) for the last 5 years. My confidence had been in shambles for years and while struggled with crippling depression and anxiety from the time I was 18 to a couple years ago.

I could go on and on about my problems and how they relate to my PMO addiction, but the fact of the matter is I am tired of letting PMO control and affect my life and you're probably bored as fuck of having to read this far. I just realized how much I've rambled...

I want to thank you for reading this and welcoming me into your community. As I've said already, I am excited to partake in the conversation and am looking forward to making new friends through this medium. I have much to share and look forward to learning from all of you.

Keep up the good fight and God Speed!

    Yours truly,

    Maskwa91

  2. Hey

    Very glad you are here.

When I arrived here, I was very confused by the program. So many terms, ideas, different opinions. I was in some ways as overwhelmed with NoFap as I was with pmo.

I found two things that helped me.

First, was reading up on the program and figuring out where to start and how to work my program. The best page is the one with the list of all the resources available.

    https://www.nofap.com/forum/index.php?threads/new-users-list-of-rebooting-resources.50878/

That page explained the program. I read every article and watched all the videos on that page.

Next, was the community. By getting involved, reading people's posts, remembering to "like" the posts, reading the post not only in the forum, but on people's profiles, I found a great group of people.

This is a diverse community. We have religious people and secular ones. There are men and women. People with months of no pmo and those just starting out. As well, there are many different approaches to remove porn from our lives forever.

Keep reading posts and profiles. You will find someone who is telling your own story. Keep posting your own story, someone needs to read it.

Looking forward to reading many more posts from you,

    L

  3. One of the ways I got involved with the fellowship was by reading some really great journals.

Once you open a journal, click "Watch Thread" in the upper right of the page to get alerts when new posts are made. Here are just a few:

There are many more, and you can discover them on your own. But, these are great places to start.

This is a work in progress. So, if a journal has changed or is no longer active, look around there are some amazing journals on here.

Welcome to NoFap where you are amongst friends who are here to encourage you and sometimes challenge you but not judge you.

The enemy is here to steal, kill and destroy. What are your current strategies for combating the enemy called PMO?

    Thanks, D.J.!

Currently, I work out 5-6 days a week lifting weights. I eat as healthy as I can and keep my alcohol consumption to 1-2 drinks a week max - sometimes no drinks. I abstain completely from Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Tumblr and other social media platforms as they are my biggest triggers. I actually deactivated all my accounts and don't plan on ever going back. Whenever I can, I pray. I'm not very religious - I was raised a Roman Catholic and was a born again Christian for a few years after leaving the Catholic church but my ideologies/beliefs have changed in recent years. I actually have been learning about my cultural heritage and the spiritual belief system is beautiful, so I've been practicing that aspect of spirituality lately and it helps.

I also have started reading success stories on this platform which has been helping immensely. Reading self help books helps me too - I'm on my second read of The Way of the Superior Man by David Deida and will be starting my third read of Corey Wayne's How to be a 3% Man. I highly recommend those two books; if you haven't read them already they will literally change your life. They're not the biggest reads also - both books are less than 300 pages. I have a list of other books I plan on acquiring and reading. Also in the realm of self-help are my favorite YouTube bloggers. I only follow channels which I find to be informative and inspiring and limit the time I spend watching YouTube as I tend to go overboard sometimes. Greg Strattner Jr., Elisha Long, Coach Corey Wayne, Alpha M., Improvement Pill, The Fearless Man, Universal Man, mikkois, and The Wisdom of Max are just a few of the channels I regularly watch. Great content on all of them!

I have tried meditation but struggle to find a quiet place and time to do it - I live with my sister, brother-in-law and their two kids so it is hard. Meditation does seem to help but I am still learning about it and have yet to experience it deeper. I am about to start a chiropractic treatment called Network Spinal Analysis (NSA) - Corey Wayne writes about it in his book and highly suggests anyone to try it. Tony Robbins also swears by it. I plan on writing about it more on here and possibly sharing my experience on YouTube. I suggest you research NSA and see if you'd be willing to try it as well. It's a low impact form of treatment and focuses on stimulating the spinal chord/central nervous system in order to 'reboot' it and allow your body to heal itself. It seems like pseudo-science bullshit but I find it to be fascinating and have heard endless good things about it.

Thanks for your interest, I hope this helps!
