    Hello Nofap community,

I would like to share my technique with finally conquering my porn addiction. I am a 22 year old male and have been struggling with porn and masturbation addiction for as long as I can remember. My longest streak has been around 80 days but I always end up relapsing. There were times when I would completely give up and fall into my old habits, wasting so much time in the process. I finally got tired of this constant cycle and decided to spend my money on a proper porn blocking app. This app is called Netnanny and it is truly an amazing app that has made Nofap so tremendously easy. It is so worth the 45 dollars for the application and the password account manager. Netnanny blocks literally all provocative material. The password account manager is an amazing tool that you can use to make sure you can not bypass the netnanny protection. Everyday the password changes and you can only access your new password by calling the netnanny company. If you ever fall into your old ways and try to search for any provocative things, you will not be able to find anything because you wont know your password; and so will not get stimulated enough to relapse. It has really helped me. I am on day 7 after a porn binge and this first 7 days has been the easiest 7 days of all my attempts for me thanks to this app. I highly reccomend this app to anyone who is serious about quitting porn :)

Porn blockers are definitely important, but you also have to focus on healing the inside issue. The root of the addiction. The emptiness inside. If you don't then the moment you have access you will eventually relapse. But definitely get a blocker. I use covenant eyes. Super good.

Do you have access to the settings at the beginning so that you can set the blocker up the way you want it?

I agree blockers are an important tool but there is so much more required to quit PMO... willpower, determination and replacement activities to name but 3

Porn blocker is very good tools if you can't handle your urges.
I never blocked porn so far because I usually get out of my bedroom and surround myself with family or come to my friends house whenever I had urges. I guess it's enough for me.

And if I had any urges at night, I turned on my computer and play some offline strategic games like Warcraft, stronghold crusader, etc. until I got sleepy.

    I'd do anything to recover.
Let's get this over with together bro, I Wish you and everyone A good luck!

Good Idea, except if you're going to do that make sure you can't connect your computer to the internet. Being on electronics at all when you have urges is never a good Idea. Keep it in mind

Does this blocker work if you use a VPN? I've tried filters before but all you need to do to bypass them is use a VPN. Would be great to find one that isn't beaten so easily

Dang man you're addiction's big. You gotta get past the compulsive viewing stage. It takes time, but It can be done. You may explain to your mom the issue, and see what she would have you do about it. You may have to get rid of the tablet, have her keep it away from the house, somethin. You need to work on keeping yourself busy. Buy and read the book BREAKING THE CYCLE. It deals very well on what to do if you're a sex addict, coping and recovery. If you're compulsively looking at it when you're not triggered or already viewing something by happenstance, you're probably legit addicted. You're gonna need some comprehensive strategies for approaching this man.

Thank you I'll have to try and convince her to take it with her everywhere she goes, but I don't really know how to tell her. I really don't want to tell her the real reason why I am telling her to take her tablet with her. Any advice?

That too. Here's the thing I've told many people: Even if you're seeking help online, you CANNOT beat this without a close group of people supporting you. When those who are closest to you DON'T know about your addiction, there's going to always be a secret part of you that you can't share, always be some shame. Do the best thing for yourself and open up. If your parents are like most, they love you and want the best for you! (Even if they are harsh even abusive, deep down they DO want what is best for you.) Your parents are going to be harsh with you and punish you (if they're good parents) If they CATCH you watching porn. If they find out you're watching porn and are hiding it. However, if you open up and confess it, help them realize that you're trying to quit, they'll be understanding. They may not realize this, (they probably do if they're not naive), but I think it's like 94% of teenagers have seen porn by the time they're 18. Everyone is exposed, and most of them get hooked. I'd say it's a solid 95% chance that they'll be super supportive and do EVERYTHING they can to help you quit. Don't worry about the consequences man, you'll never regret it looking back. Think over it for a couple of days, but you may just be frank with her. You know: "Mom, I'm going to be real straight up with you right now, I've been addicted to porn since I was ____, and I've realized how bad and harmful it is, and I'm trying to quit. I need YOU to help me in X, Y, and Z ways, because I'm real serious about this."
    I believe in you man,
    Your brother in this struggle
