I'm trying to improve on cooking, does anybody here like to cook? Any recipes I could try or cooking tips?
I normally use cookbooks and recipes online, but there's one recipe I started doing on my own, that I love making and people seem to enjoy. It's really great for potlucks and household sports viewing parties. Sloppy Joe Cheese Fries. Take a bag of frozen French fries, cook 'em in the oven, and while they're going, brown some ground beef, drain the fat, and put a can of sloppy joe/manwich sauce in the pan. Simmer that until the fries are done. Then in a deep glass baking tray, put the fries, then the beef, and top with a layer of shredded cheese. I prefer a Mexican 4 cheese mix.
Here's a breakfast favorite in the Rodriguez household: Banana Pancakes Dry Ingredients * Half cup of All Purpose Flour * 1 Tsp of Baking Powder * 1 Tsp of Baking Soda * A pinch of Iodized Salt * 1-2 Tbsp of White Sugar Wet Ingredients * Half cup of Milk * 1 Egg * 1-2 Tbsp of oil (Canola, vegetable, et cetera) * 2 Yellow Bananas (I think that's it) Combine all your dry ingredients in a bowl. Crack egg into a separate bowl and beat the FUCK out of that egg. Then combine the rest of your wet ingredient (except your bananas) together, then mix all the stuff you've already combined. Cut up your bananas, and then mash them with a fork. Mash the FUUUUUCK out of those bananas until they too, have the similar consistency of pancake batter. Finally, mix EVERYTHING together thoroughly. Heat a pan to medium, and after each pancake, place a little bit of butter on the pan to oil it up. They should be done after a minute to a minute and a half on each side. Top each one off with a square of butter, and some maple syrup (the real stuff is better). Enjoy! ~Squeaky Soul
