Math does increase your logical way of thinking so I guess...yes, it helps with real life problems.

It was a very, very long time ago, kill me if I remember what I was doing back then... But my guess is: there was no much of a difference between real analysis or other math topics, I used it a couple times in university where we did complex graphs but after that I didnt had a chance to use it in real life.

  12. Hmm. So yes, if you want to earn good money, a maths degree can definitely be useful.

In terms of solving life problems - depends what you mean. My education in logic, probability, etc have huge value in day-to-day life. My education in pure and applied mathematics has more specific value, but value. In terms of the big problems i deal with in my everyday life though, I would say that maths had very little impact upon it.

I have made peace with Math. I may not love it, but neither do I hate it anymore.

  15. Ah maybe I've misspoken. I love maths. And find it extremely satisfying to learn more about it or to solve a challenging problem. So in that sense it's made my life richer.
