Am I the only girl addict on this forum?

My situation seems unorthodox compared to most of the other posts I've been reading. I'm a female addicted to porn and masturbation and my boyfriend has never even seen porn. I think he masturbates maybe a couple times a month, but always in moderation. I feel like I don't deserve him! I confessed my struggles a year and a half ago but I'm not sure he quite fully understands it. I'm just hoping to get better before we get engaged and then married.

Any other girls fighting pmo with innocent boyfriends?

  2. No you aren't! Check out the Women in Reboot section. There are many women on here who have problems with porn...you are not alone.

Just noticed a new female member that also is an addict. Her name is @Bre. Thought you might want to reach out to her. While it's true that there certainly is a lot more men on the site that are addicts there are some female addicts on here as well. I wish you all the best on your recovery journey. Please reach out to anyone that you feel may be a help to you. :)

Haha thanks! I just meant on that particular forum about porn addicts in relationships. Most of them are males or the girlfriends of male porn addicts it seems.

Ohh I see :) sorry. If it counts I'm married to a man who is not an addict and actually has never been into porn. It's kind of a weird thing always being on the other end and never hearing advice from girls in my situation, just guys

    Oh bw
oh wow! That does make me feel better. My boyfriend has never seen porn and it makes me feel like a freak of nature hearing all the girlfriends/wives talking about how much their partner's addiction hurts them.

Right! I know just how you feel. Females have sexual urges too. I was exposed to it young so ive sadly always been overly interested in sex and when I got older I went back to porn. I had all these memories of it. I had no idea I would get addicted. My husband grew up on the streets basically and never really had internet. He grew up taking care of his mom and sisters so he's always respected women and never dreamed of viewing porn. So that makes me feel extra like a freak and makes it feel like he will never understand. But it's ok because I'm the one at fault not him. This is my problem

Glad to hear that! A big part of the recovery process is recognizing that you aren't alone and that there are others with the same struggle. In addition, realizing that we can't do this on our own, that we need to rely on others to help and support us. We need healthy connection with other safe people. Isolation and trying to "fix things" on our own is a recipe for disaster. It just doesn't work. I'm happy to hear that report and that things are going well for you! Keep up the good work. :)
