Yeah, it does completely cloud your judgement. It represses your disgust response, so when your blood gets up your discernment, your standards, they all go down and you can get into stuff you'd normally find uninteresting, or even repulsive under normal circumstances. First, stop using porn at all. You'll find your baseline tastes are comparatively vanilla and that's fine. Alcohol and weed are both depressants, so they might actually help you not PMO, but they can also screw up your liver and your brain chemistry so I recommend not relying on that either. Growing up I was told drinking alcohol was a sin so I didn't drink. I'm no longer a Christian but I've remained teetotal. The thing that has that kept me from abstaining is people would mock me for not drinking and me taking up drinking would be like letting the mockers win. Also, I don't like how drinking can make you lose control. Anyway, nowadays being teetotal is more fashionable so I don't feel so weird.
You're right it's not a sin but bad for the kind of people who become alcoholics. I think the reason I was told it was a sin was because my Grandfather used to be an alcoholic who would beat up my Grandmother when he was drunk.
In aggregate, the Christian Bible has more positive things to say about alcohol than negative. That said, it does have strong warnings about abusing it, and if you have a history of alcoholism and violence in the family, it's easy to see how its use in any context would be placed on the naughty list. Damn I’m real sorry to hear that has happened. My family has also taught pretty harshly against alcohol because I had a relative who used to have bad problems, but they’re ok now.
