A realization that is normally overlooked (mainly for men)

So, being the observant and pondering person that I am, I did some thinking about being a man and being a productive person in general, which ties to NoFap.
It comes down to selflessness. I started thinking about my family, my mother and my sisters, who I would die for if needed. As a male, I thought about what function I play as a human, and while thinking about it, I realized it's not completely about me. What if my mother and sisters needed me in a dire situation? What kind of "man" would I be if I couldn't protect them? It's no longer about just me, but my honor, my family. I need to be at my best. If you're someone who is a bit stubborn about honor and your family like me, you'll know where I'm getting at. If I suffer, that's one thing, but if you make my family suffer, I will summon up all the evil within me to harm you. My father is an alpha male, a "man's man" If you will, he excels at everything he does and to put it bluntly a "badass." - He was always those most judgemental and hardest on me out of everybody. I understand why. I've been too selfish and weak, not living to my potential. I don't want to be some dirty pothead porn-jerker that I have been. I've done my family dishonor despite all they've done for me. Not anymore, it's not just about me, now that I've realized this, I wake up everyday with a purpose and motivation. I would rather die than dishonor my family.

I certainly understand how you feel, man. The feeling of not living to my fullest potential is what's motivate me to better myself.

  4. It all completely about me, the individual. Egoism is a line the begins in us, and ends in us, but passes trough all the people that we care about and that care for us.

I like your attitude man. I think you can def get your motivation thinking about those around you. But you still need to realize that at the end you are doing this for YOU. YOU want to become a better person. When you're a better person in your life, you will be a better person for all those around you.

I'm just curious, what country are you from? Because I think we have similar background. You can PM me if you want.
