A Question

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by Deleted Account, May 12, 2016.

  1. After my last relapse, i've been doing my best to just spend an hour or less sitting on the internet, because of the images and the P-sub in there

So my question, Will that have a positive effectc on me?
I mean by spending the most day with friends , eating, playing sports.. And avoiding everything related to P. I think this will help me to recover mentally and physically faster?

Yes - no doubt! Remember that dopamine is released so we can experience pleasure from a whole range of activities (such as those you listed). But when porn obliterates everything else, former pleasures no longer seem enjoyable. But as you go through this process of not using artificial sexual stimulation of your penis (masturbation) and your brain (porn), you will find those other things to become very enjoyable again. So, you will experience a transition, with an increasing fulfilment from social activities instead of locking yourself away with your pants round your ankles clicking and rubbing madly!

Absolutely, bust up your day from the old routine. Don't just eliminate P, replace it with good stuff. If you wake up at 7, set the alarm for 6:30am. If you eat eggs, make a smoothie. Eat lunch at a slightly different time, go to a different restaurant or make PNB&Jelly. Move the computer in your house. Watch news on TV not PC. I mean mix up the whole day with new people and activities. If you spent an hour w/PMO, lay a book on your PC and grab it to read, not cruse the net. Reboot is subtraction...Bootup with addition of something good and new.

Of course. Downloading a blocker can be a great help as well.

Yes, a blocker and partner can be great. But cheating on other devices can occur too. Have you experienced blockers? Where do you get them. I know kids go around then all the time....

Curious, maybe dumb. Does something like eating a good meal, having fun with the family, really enjoying a great movie or clean entertainment, cause dopamine to flow, thus impact a reboot? Is dopamine satisfaction for wholesome entertainment a good thing? Is dopamine rewarding P (I know bad) different than dopamine rewarding proper sex function?

I think your answer is yes. P causes toxic amount of Dopamine, and rebooting balances this out.
