I'd like to briefly share my experience and thoughts on hair loss, and hair growth through my time with NoFap.

I started losing my hair in my early 20s, at a time when I was PMOing nearly daily. Now in my late 20s, it has almost completely stopped thinning, and in most areas has started progressively growing back.

I've been attempting NoFap for the last year and a half. My average PMO-free time being about 2 weeks, with a few month+ streaks.

The majority of my hair re-growth has been during my times abstaining from PMO. So I thought it relevant to share what I believe to be a real benefit of a lifestyle without regular loss of semen. (I always thought wasting the stuff that creates life could be a big cause of not growing oneself mentally - and physically!)

This may not work for everyone, but my hairline has come forward, when I believed at best it would stay where it was. And though it's not the most important thing, I do believe it can be a great motivator to see this challenge through!

If you're still reading, I'd like to reward you, with a list! (I know, I'll keep it brief...)

Here's the other things I did - apart from not masturbate or look at porn - to help avoid wearing a beanie in the future.

Cold showers (yes everyone says this, but one of the benefits of cold water is that it strengthens hair cells to retain the hair)

Low sugar diet, and just generally consuming less processed crap and alcohol

    More exercise, daily

Wear hats less (I haven't actually looked into this one, but it is said that hats have a negative effect, for summer days in the sun I use a loose fitting wide brim hat, scares the ladies away let me tell you)

Use a good quality brush or comb every morning (this stimulates the area)

Minimising hair products (I use none)

Minimising washing with shampoo (I wash my hair with cold water almost daily, but I only use a natural brand shampoo once a week or less. This allows the natural oils - the ones stuck on my wide brim hat - to do their natural thing)

    ---------------------

Do this, and at the very least you should significantly slow down hair loss. But please know that this was not a fast outcome for me, it took a long time, and I wasn't expecting it. So if you try it, be prepared to stick it out for a while.

And as a side benefit, you can expect healthier looking and less irritated hair.

Feel free to add you thoughts or experiences. If anyone has had similar benefits please share as well.

I hadn't thought much about it,. But I'm close to 100 days and almost everyone has noticed how thick my beard is now. I didn't make the correlation but I think you're right.

I'm suffering from hair loss myself at such a young age. Even people around me tell me about how I used to have much denser hair earlier. I think its mainly bcoz of pmo.

One more thing that cause hair damage is (as told by my barber) taking hot showers. And I think it makes sense.

That's a good motivator. I've only grown out a beard once at about 20 and it didn't quite work out how I wanted haha!

My folks told me a similar thing - that a hot shower has a bad effect on skin (another issue at the time was acne, now not as bad). In winter right now I'm admittedly using hot & cold showers, but always finish on cold, and importantly only cold water on the hair.

As someone who's always struggled with growing a beard, NoFap has worked an absolute treat; my facial hair has never been thicker before.

    Good stuff!

I thought people either had healthy hair or they didn't, likewise that the tone of one's voice was set. The deeper voice NoFap gives typically after a few weeks is proof enough for me that slower physical transformations are taking place...
