Ive almost gone 5 whole months without a relapse. I keep remembering scenes in my head and I desire it but when I even think of relapsing for some reason I get intense anxiety almost as if my body's naturally telling me no don't relapse. Any comments, tips, suggestions?

5 months is impressive! I'm wondering if mindfully acknowledging the 'desire' would be helpful and then choosing to stay strong. Denying the desire may drive it deeper but acknowledging it makes it real, brings it to awareness and reminds we have choice. Choosing a distraction until the urge passes can be helpful although it's not easy.

I mean I notice it but I'm just trying my best to conserve that desire for a real person instead of a computer screen.

I had scored more than a month. My life too had become hell due to temptations. There is a lecture I watched on youtube which philosophically described the steps we take to sin. Let me brief that here.

Every sin begins with a thought, If you can kill it at the thought level, it takes least effort (but not as easy as saying) and you are good to go. But if you let yourself loose at this stage, you go to a more difficult level ie the thoughts becomes an idea. Now you start thinking "What if I do it like that? That'd be nice." etc. It has become difficult now. But if you don't take effort and do something more overwhelming, your idea turns into a plan and eventually you commit the act.

The sin gives you a fake kind of enjoyment and this makes you go back again. Before you realise, it is an addiction. And then feeling guilty is of no help.

Bottom line: Kill every temptation at the thought level. Do something more productive and "MORE OVERWHELMING" than the temptation. The more you allow the thought to grow, the difficult it becomes to get rid of.

Your motivation and sentiment is truly inspiring.

Denying something that is there is already there is a bit like holding a beach ball underwater, it takes time, effort and energy to keep it pressed down. By noticing it and acknowledging it, it's almost like letting the beach ball bob up and down around you - you don't need to control it, grab it or push it back under water. Just knowing it is there and becoming uncomfortably OK with it takes less effort, less time and not much energy and allows you to remain in control (with practice).

You should be proud of your self, this is a gift from god. Nothing wrong with you, this is the best feeling that keeps you away from bad habits. You need to wait until you have your soulmate girl. Think about big objectives in your life, and use your clear mind to plan hitting it.
