I'm in! I commit that I will not watch porn in 2024!

 

Well, it's actually fun but I'm in
I've quit videogames in 2023, I want to quit porn in 2024.

 

first off we need to set boundaries. do install necessary parental control or blockers on our phone and computer. we need to have a deeper "WHY" do we want to recover and lastly we need to be honest with ourselves. We will get through this everyone! God bless us all!

I had originally planned to keep watching it until December 31, but I can't see any benefit in doing that. It's just pointless. Instead I'll start as of today, and keep going. Might as well come into the new year with some momentum.

I will not search for edgy stuff on the internet

(I'm almost frightened to make this commitment because I wonder if I will commit to this. Too many failed attempts, false promises, missed chances ...)

WHY?
(my why's)​

- because I owe it to MYSELF - so many tries, so much preparing, planing, dedication, so much time and energy invested just to QUIT

- because I know I can live with it, but I will be much better off without it and even the felt joy will be replaced with more quality joy, as soon as the brain has adapted

- because I owe it to my family. I refrained to tell them and kept it a secret all the time. Of course I can have secrets in general but this one is just too detrimental on them I mean too damaging, too painful .. I could reveal the secret and I would have to if this continues for longer, so quit for God sake, quit

- because I believe in a future where I have a woman, maybe wife, maybe children .... with p it will be so much less likey that it happens and that it works out and that I will be a good man and all that

- because I owe it to the nofap community in a way ...

- for my happiness, my future and to be able to look back on a good (lived) life: the p addiction and the battle against it causes a lot of collateral damage for sure and on the other side there's so much potential !

- because I know from experience, a little porn just don't work for me

- because I educated myself about the process of addiction and recovery, as well as the brainchemistry and brain modelling (can't remember the right term atm). I want to proof it works and that I can do it!


In a nutshell:
I'm quitting porn for my current and my future kin, including my future self. I'm quitting porn because I know I can't live properly without it and I know I have to make a clear cut and get it out of my system. It will require more effort and pain but with time my brain will heal and I will get better. I'm not alone in my struggle and similar folks have suceeded - it is possible for me and I will proof that.

On a site note, of course the recovery process is more than to "just quit porn" ... !!!
