This [United States] Independence Day, (July 4th), choose freedom over porn. I challenge you to take one physical step towards a lasting recovery. What you do is your choice, but I can give you some suggestions. Post what you've done below. Remember, porn was our [bad] choice, but recovering is a choice we can make every day! Suggestions: Delete your stash Clear your bookmarks Close / delete your accounts Goto a support group meeting (even one online) Get a recovery book Start a recovery step (i.e. 12 step program) Finish that recovery step you've been stuck on. Get an Accountability Partner. Tell someone you're a recovering porn addict! (Bonus points if they're not from this website) If you are religious, get support from your religion. As the great movie said: The President: ...We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps its fate that today is the 4th of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom, not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution -- but from [pornography]. We're fighting for our right to live, to exist. And should we win the day, the 4th of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day when the world declared in one voice: "We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive!" Today, we celebrate our Independence Day! http://www.americanrhetoric.com/MovieSpeeches/moviespeechindependenceday.html
My challenge was to goto confession for this. I did try, though the church didn't have it today. So what's important is that I did go.
i'm being honest and starting my day count over. i slipped early this morning. went onto hookup site and met a couple people then ultimately had sex...after looking at pics and ads on hook up site obsessively. I will say, staying away from P for 12 days started to take the sting out of porn and i don't seem to be that interested in it right now...so thats good.
