  Another series of posts herein made me take full recognition of the many years I have committed this sin (50!) resulting in some self loathing and despair. I am also seeking humility as well as chastity but I feel there must be an important distinction between humility and self loathing that I don't fully understand. Thank you for suggesting Romans Ch 6. I found there some important advice on dealing with guilt.

    Romans6-8 is something I revisit regularly. It sums up the Gospel quite well! Self-loathing is simply another form of pride: It keeps the self as the primary focus. Humility is simply taking the focus off of you. I have found Luke 17:5-10 very helpful in this regard.

  Tao. It is my 50th day and I am thankful to you for helping me understand the solution to this problem. As both of us know it is one day at a time but it is a sort of emotional milestone. It tells me if I can make it to 50 I can make it to 100 or till anywhere I want it to. Wanted to tell this in public so that more people will see you and more people will be benefitted like I got the privilege.

    happy 50th birthday. that's pretty special ! "one day at a time"- that resonates with me too. life can start at 50, it did for me 3 yrs ago in my reboot. i am over 50. i've been clean for 3 yrs with the guidance of a clinical therapist, a God who is full of grace, a wife who loves me and cares and is willing to work through my recovery, and i am determined to be well again by repairing my mind to be free of P.
